Motorized Grain Mills: Time to show them off!

Uh oh... I can see it now... A Kal-inspired control panel for the grain mill... Tachometer, temp probes in the grain bed and hopper, amp and volt meter, humidity... Where's my drawing pad???

Motorized Grain Mills: Time to show them off!

Keep your eyes open on eBay... I picked up a Baldor 10:1 Speed Reducer for $75 (retails for $300), and coupled it (using the right Lovejoy couplers) between a Monster Mill and a 1/3 up Dalton motor that I also pillaged from eBay. It all works like a charm! :)

    My new RIMS control panel

I've also experienced pump cavitation more than once... Everything looks to working, all the switches are set right, pump is on, but no flow. I figured a flow switch would at least keep me from boiling the wort in the RIMS, eventually burning out the element... And this 2000W puppy doesn't come...

    My new RIMS control panel

I'm still wiring up my system, but I went on eBay and bought a stainless steel GEMS flow switch (FS-10798 Series) for $50. As long as I have 0.5 gallon/minute flow out of the RIMS (this is adjustable to 20 GPM) and through the switch, the switch will turn close, which in turn allows the heating...

Mini-ITX MB incorporated into BCS Control Panel

    I'm tossing around the idea of building a self-contained control panel (16" x 24" enclosure) that incorporates my BCS-462 with a Gigabyte Z77N-WiFi motherboard (M/B) (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4337#ov), with the M/B's onboard I/O used to drive a free-standing...

    Brewtroller relay board interchangible?

Alright, ya'll convinced me... I just pulled the trigger on two of the following, paying a little more to get them from sent to me free via USPS from San Diego rather than by International Mail from Hong Kong: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300805086361 I searched pretty...

    Brewtroller relay board interchangible?

Well, far from being "cheaper," but nonetheless Chinese, I was looking at this one, since I'm also leaning towards staying on DIN rails inside the control panel: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271108596361?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 Has anyone else tried this?

    Brewtroller relay board interchangible?

Hey, Maltose... did you ever get an answer to your question? I've got the same application, and I'm trying to find a relay board that will work with the BCS-462 - hopefully one that covers all 12 (16 will work) of the ON/OFF outputs! I have three pumps, seven valves, and two gas valves to...

    Monster Mill Table (Dado Planning)

These are the design drawings. The table gets built this week! NOTE: Because I live and work in Japan, I have a mix of Metric and Imperial measurements. The Japanese sell standard 2 x 4's, but their plywood is closer to 3' x 6' (910mm x 1820mm) than 4' x 8'.

    Monster Mill Table Design

My design for a brew table that doubles as a stand for a 3 roller Monster Mill. I'm using a 1/3 hp reversible electric motor driving the mill through a Baldor 10 to 1 speed reducer that I pulled off of eBay. The table design is consistent with my brew stand. A matched set!
