    Bottles to avoid. Proffered bottles?

I use Pacifico bottles. I get them for free from a local dive bar. Just have to go in at like 3 in the morning before they take the trash out. Every once in a while I like to get my hands on some Sierra nevada bottles or red hook bottles. And those I use for gifts normally.

What's the best lhbs in SoCal? La/oc

Only thing down by me in Laguna Hills is Osheas. Cool little store. Guys are really helpful. Grain selection is good and so is hops. Have the basic necessities for equipment too. Small store though, and awesome beer selection.

    Chemical or soapy taste?

It's bottled my first brew. Tasted my hydrometer sample and it had a bit of a chemical or soapy taste to it. Overall the flavor was ok at best, but the soapy flavor is hard to miss. Any ideas of what it could be?

question about what type of brewing i do

BIAB is the first step you should take. ( brew in a bag) if your pot can handle a little bit more liquid, find an all grain recipe to start with, and a 5 gallon paint strainerbag.

    where to buy?

I like midwest supplies, but with them expect to pay in upwards of 12$ for shipping normal items. Northern brewer is great too, and they have most items and shipping is like 7$ flat rate for most items.

    What was your gateway?

First IPA I ever tried was Coronado IPA. I HATED it, I thought it was the most disgusting beer ever, after starting back at the bottom with SNPA and moving all the way up to stone, I can officially call myself a Hop- Head! Can't get enough. An there is always a hop for anytime wether it just be...

Sweet! Thanks for the responses. I was worried I'd have to add a bunch and go buy a bunch of bottles. They aren't cheap around here.
