    Induction brewing

I boil wort on a 6Kw 3-phase 230VAC induction cooker that I built from three 2Kw units ripped a part and built into a custom box. I use a 20 gallon pot and brew 10g batches.

    ebay 3800w dimmer

No it will not work. It's a dc motor controller. Go with a Kyotto phase angle controller, the 3800w phase angle controller in OP or a slow PWM circuit connected to an SSR.

    3 Phase power questions

You are not wrong ;) It's pretty common in new houses, or at least in newly developed areas that the power company gives you 400V 3-phase with neutral. Than you get 230V between any hot leg and neutral. The grid I'm hooked up to is a 230V 3-phase, no neutral conductor. (i get 240V, live close...

    3 Phase power questions

True. The formula only illustrates the actual current drawn by the elements. How to get the right size breaker and even cable may vary from house to house, or at least country to country. At least in my country it is not given what cable size you can use on a certain breaker size, it must...

    3 Phase power questions

I have 240VAC 3-phase in my house, and over here (Norway) that's pretty normal. As others have pointed out, the way to calculate max power draw from one breaker is: P = U x I x sqrt3 where P is Power, U is voltage, I is current and square root of 3 is approx 1.73. If you have a 50A breaker, the...

    March AC-3B-MD Pump

I have a March TE-5S-MD pump that I got of ebay as an air driven unit (AM version). I replaced the airmotor with a 250w 3-phase industrial electric motor. Fitted a Minarik variable frequency drive to get the most RPM's out of the motor as possible. The pump has 1" Female NPT threads and I use...

    Element Heat Control

Cant open the link either but a search on "kyotto" on ebay will give you a number of phase angle controllers, which are just like powerful light dimmers for use on heating elements. They come at least in 25, 40 and 75A versions. Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140553987088?redirect=mobile...

    looking for pump input!

How does this punp handle bits of grain and pellet hop material? Does it clog easely?

    ebay 3800w dimmer

Not PWM but phase angle. Same as any simple light dimmer for halogen or glowlamp, but with more power. In theory you could experience some RF-noise with phase angle, but I wouldnt worry to much about it.

    quiet pumps

I have two Iwaki MD-10 and one MD-20 and they are VERY quiet. My March TE-5S makes a bit more noise but not to bad.

    Chinese SS Ball Valve Quality

A full port valve is full port in respect to conduit size or pipe sizes. If you meashure a 1/2" full port valve you will find it's ID to be closer to 5/8". And if you are running 1/2" silicone tubing the ball valve will certainly not be the bottleneck in your system. I do not have any of the...

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

Thanks a lot! Good to know the only issue is decoupling of the magnets, and no damage to shaft or bushings. I painted the mag-drive coupler white and black in 4 quadrants so I can measure RPM using a model airplane tacho. Works brilliant as the motor adapter on this pump has cut-outs so the...

Questions about March Pumps answered by the Factory!

I got a March TE-5S-MD-AM off ebay. Originally powered by an air motor (suffix AM). I fitted a 250w three-phase motor to run it on electric power. Pump works great, and I plan to fit a VFD to throttle the pump in addition to the ball valve om the outlet. Since I'm in Europe the motor is run at...

    Heating Elements

I use these elements. They are great! If sharp bends are required they are bendable with a pipe bender, for bigger radius they can be bendt around a pot or keg etc. They can also be used for dry applications, which means they tolerate dry fiering. The glands are extra. I mounted mine like...

RTD thermosensor and PID on ebay

The PID is a little larger physically than most, it has relay output, K-input. Engeneering unit can be changed to F in advanced settings menu. Input can also be changed to RTD (and others) if you like. Have you seen my post in this thread...

    rKc CD101 Help...

Hi all, first post:) I have a CD101 from China, bought through ebay. It has SSR output, which is specified by model identification number, FK02-VM*AN-NN (5th digit, V=voltage pulse output=SSR, M=relay output) The unit is not actually manufactured by RKC, but reverse-engeneered in China...
