    Day 4 SG reading.........

I am definitely going to let it sit. So far, its a tastey brew! of course it smells a little yeasty right now but its smooth, crisp, and has a nice hoppy finish. I liken the flavor to Sam Adams Boston Lager but with a lighter color. So far its a success in my book.

    My pre-brew experiment...

I'm probably going to get flamed for this. But oh well. This was NOT done for the same reasons that "beginner" did in the DIY forum for those who read this kid's post. This was done to test the process for brewing/fermenting I bought some organic fresh squeezed apple juice, and some...

I put it in a swam cooler w/ a T-shirt over the top. Just checked it with a sanitized digital remote aquarium thermometer. 68* haven't been able to ice it since last night (flew all day), gonna re-ice it before bed. Fermentation down to 12 BPM Prolly gonna take a SG reading tomorrow AM.

    priming sugar question

FWIW, from what I've read, you really should use simple corn sugar, not table cane sugar.

Just put a thermometer on my primary and....

I love my SWBMO. Reminded me of the plastic tubs we had outside in storage. Problem now is the thermometer is submerged in ice water, it'll be more difficult to take a temp reading without popping the top. If I get some fruity esters in this batch, it won't kill me.
