    Help with dividing rhizomes

If it is an established plant just wait until the spring and you can see the shoots coming through. With a sharp knife, just cut straight down. As long as youve got a shoot attached to a piece of rhizome it will grow. Pot on into a pot of multi prupose compost and water well.

Other plants in the same planter

Nasturtiams will grow up nicely through your bines with the added benefit of attracting blackfly. Plus you can pick and pickle the seeds (capers)

    Using R/O water for brewing.

Unfortunatley this is not so. R/O units work on a percentage of capability. My R/O unit runs aat 98.9% effecient. My tap water reads 264ppm before filtering, so it should read 2.9ppm after (its actually 4ppm). So, if I was in Pheonix where the water is 1500ppm (WTF) it will come out at...

    Porter started....when to bottle?

Right. In the UK most one can kits you have to add sugar/fermentables. The two can kits contain more malt so you dont have to add any extra fermentables. The two can kits are normally a better drink with the advantage of you can only use one can if you want to make a smaller brew. What I do is...

    Porter started....when to bottle?

Im not familiar with this kit. But normally with one can kits you have to add sugar. Did you have to add sugar? Most "run of the mill" kits have a OG of 1.040 and a target FG of 1.010 = abv4.08% If you only used half the water you will have a OG of 1.080 and if the FG gets down to 1.010...

    Muntons Irish Stout

Ive brewed this kit a few times, all with good results. You can add 1kg of Muntons BKE instead of sugar, or... Only make up to 30pts, or... Use 1kg of dextrose instead of sugar.

Why the UK is better than the US

Dont believe everthing you read on Wikipedia. A.Einstien was actually born in a small village named Balsall Heath, Birmingham, UK. He moved to Germany at a very yonug age, where he was never taught, mathematics, by a distant cousin of mine, who never existed, anyway
