I agree with Yooper. I have never used an autosiphon. I do the old water in siphon, finger over hose, let it go trick. I also drain the water into a separate container. Most of the time I use my tank sprayer to fill with starsan solution to sanitize. Easy as pie....

I personally put water or beer in my kegs, and then after pressurizing check for leaks on top of the seals. You use less Co2 that way.

I saw the expansions and just bought several of those. I should only need a plug and barb fitting to complete the manifold!

Got that as well. I hope they can get the law changed. I know they also had to stop selling at the brewery due to some odd law after they had brewed a certain amount of beer.

As far as the dip tube, I think that depends on the brand of keg. On my pinlocks, I have 4 that have the diptube straight off to the side, and 4 that they are curved to the center.

Did you crank the pressure up when hooking up the new keg? I am guessing you have a leak somewhere, and that your black IPA was over carbonated.

I use a rubbermaid 48 quart. CPVC manifold with slits cut with a jigsaw. 50+ batches in it and it works great. Whole setup with a ball valve for probably under $30.

Just dump it into your beer, no need to rehydrate. I use notty for almost everything, and quit hydrating. Still works great!
