    Brewzilla Gen4 Discussion/Tips Talk

Others have reported this as I read that there were some units that were tested and were in the heater on state when unplugged. This was not supposed to be that way and the QA/QC process was updated. Seems you may have one of those units. Since I'm aware of it, I plan to check upon arrival.

Question for the cheapskates out there using plain old buckets for fermenting

You can. However I bought my thief for carbons and just kept using it. I have sampled from the spigot. Just have to rinse clean. Add to that your diptube you may pull trub.

Question for the cheapskates out there using plain old buckets for fermenting

Been using buckets for 23 yrs. I average 2-3 yrs per. I've had 1 infected batch. I add a spigot to each bucket. For the airlock I add a large hole for a bung. Large enough for my their to get a sample. After goofing with corny kegs as a fermentation vessel I went back to buckets. I am...

I get ya, maybe I'm a sucker, and hopefully, MoreBeer will do a 'special' for those that bought the Gen 4 someday. With the same flaw design I the Grainfather with its ultra-high sticker price, I'm still planning to obtain the RAPT thermo. I would still like to get a PILL via MoreBeer, but...

As one that has simply dumped in my grains to my Mash Tun, I expect to make this same mistake once since I never had a malt pipe nor a bag... we learn from our pains. The reduction of boil time probably has a big impact on your OG. With the 30-minute boil, did you adjust the hops to get the...

Saw that too... as someone said, I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning. I haven't been so excited about a new piece of brewing gear in 20 years.... then again I built my current setup nearly 22 years ago. But seriously, come on, I'm ready for my "will call road trip" to pick it up.

While I await for my BZ4 to arrive, I have a question... I currently use a March 109 pump, it's fairly strong non-self priming. If I plumb the BZ4 to use the internal pump for re-circulation, do ya'll feel the March 109 will be too strong for pumping out via the drain valve? Or should I add...

I was poking about B3s site and noticed the 110v model is fully listed as available. Both of the 220v models are still tagged pre-order and not in stock yet. Patiently waiting.

Fermentrack: Fermentation monitoring & BrewPi-www Replacement for Raspberry Pi

There's a lot to absorb and unpack in this thread... My mind is spinning. The background is I started down the path of an automated gas system and quickly evolved to electric. So I bought my first Pi and soon played with CraftBeerPi which works well. I currently have a controller to manage...

I think you will find what you seek and many other answers in the 2 part series from David Heath. Here is a link to part two. Mashin temp of ~4 Gal took him 17:53 with what I believe was his 240v. I'd add another 15-20 min for 110v

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

So assuming I have the mash water ready and pre-heated... Are you suggesting your brew day is maybe 3ish hours cooled and cleaned up? I have both an immersion and counterflow chiller already... If that is accurate, wow, what a time saver. I'll have time on brew day to still pump out 20-30...

So it sounds like I could potentially fill maybe 2 kegs with maybe 4ish Gal each... Real-world testing would certainly be in order for my lightest of ales. I'm just trying to figure out if I should cancel and make it the 65L unit, but I really expect to trim back to 5G average batches.

Evaluating my brewing rigs worth to sell...

I've slowed down on my brewing due to life changes, work schedule, mtn biking more (to lose some extra weight), etc... So I decided to downgrade my system and modernize a bit. I've brewed on a single-tier 3v keggle setup for over 20 years and placed an order for the Brewzilla v4 35L rig. So...

    Robobrew/Brewzilla Discussion

OK, back ground I've been using my 3v Keggle Single tier running on propane for 21 years. I'm looking at migrating to a 35L v4 running on 220v. Since I've now pre-ordered the 35L Brewzilla v4... I have a few questions for the experienced Robobrew crowd... How many extra gallons can I expect...
