I knew a car guy was going to pipe up. Yeah, I've done it with a car, but I'm just not sure I really want to put that much effort in to a '68 Whirlpool.

I don't know how I missed your comment earlier, but thanks. I had checked Amazon and thought all they had were the 220V models. I just checked again and found a 110V model. Oh well, I'll pick one up some time for another project.

Cool, I hope you have better luck than I did. I definitely looks better than it did, but not necessarily as good as it could. Below is what the chrome looks like with the tape off. I think what I might do is either pick up a quart of paint and use my spray gun or repaint it with the chalkboard...
