    No more shaking for oxygen?

Could this be a solution to shaking the hell out of a 5 gallon glass carboy??? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=162348136421&alt=web

    Is this beer infected

I'd say yes. How's it taste?

    Magnum Hop Aroma

    I second the torpedo clone

Cold Crash - Batch prime - bottle bomb :)

I recommend mixing. This has happened to me plenty. Not the bomb but finishing bottling and seeing a slurry of beer colored sugar at the bottom of the bucket. Even with room temp beer. I definitely recommend stirring ever so gently ensuring all the sugar solution at the bottom dillutes equally...

    Peering down the kegging hole

Well here it is, 2 weeks after deciding to go full throttle! Thanks for all the convincing opinions on why to do it, no more bottles for me! (except for transport of course) :)

    Keezer Temp Fluctuation

I'm by no means an expert on this, I'm actually in your same position, getting ready to keg for the first time with my newly made keezer. But I'm not really too concerned with temp fluctuations because I know the freezer will kick on before beer begins to really fluctuate in temp being that...

    Peering down the kegging hole

I made the leap today. This thread helped convince me. I've gotten more and more irritated with setting up bottles, cleaning them, and filling them one by one being so careful with each one to avoid oxidation. Many of the perks listed in this thread made me realize it's a wise investment for me...

    Peering down the kegging hole

Ive been bottling for 2 years and I am considering kegging for the advantages of fresh beer anytime, no more bottling, cleaning etc. The problem is I enjoy having 3 or more brews available at any given time to drink. So I would need a minimum of a 3 tap system. I'm willing to invest, but I...

    Sugar while prime? :(

I did this for a while. Now I have 4 useless minikegs in my pantry. Sorry but I wouldn't recommend these. Stick with bottles, maybe larger bottles if more volume is what you're after. 3 major issues:getting them clean after use, must drink 5 liters within 2 days or you'll lose carbonation...

Help with a small batch IIPA

I'd change the 30 min to a 15min instead, add an ounce of ama there, and the other ounce at flameout, hopstand for 15 min or so.

    If you can't brew...

I'm really interested in your fermentation chamber. Guve me some more details on the design. I'm not being a smartass it looks efficient. That's my kinda style

    Christmas Ale

The vanilla flavor really comes out after around a week soaking in vodka, I would suggest longer in vodka, but at least do longer in the beer before crashing. I bottle, so I just leave the beans in vodka for the entire primary, then add at bottling day to my taste preference.

Do carbonation pills (drops) need yeast?

You can rouse the yeast by turning upside down gently a few times and bringing to room temp for a few weeks along with more sugar.

Heading for disaster on Hazelnut Porter?

Maybe throw in some caramel 60? Abundance of victory always leaves me with a very bready cracker flavor, and not very nutty.

    FF/Citra APA combo

Looks good. Getting ready to do my first FF ipa. I personally would increase your ibu but that is up to you. You should have some nice aroma with that schedule

    Bottling in a Growler

I have used these for bottle conditioning my last few brews, done about 6 of em so far, not a single problem with them at all. Only thing I'm worried about is getting new seals.

Time and temp for bottle conditioning?

Ah ok I am not familiar with that yeast. Sounds all good to me, maybe a priming sugar miscal? Or it may just need more time

Time and temp for bottle conditioning?

12.5 will take a while, anything over 10 I always assume at least a month bottling or I add a bottle conditioning yeast

Leaving Beer in the Bottling Bucket?

And the capping method is somewhat well known. But when I visually saw the co2 in action, I became a firm believer in it. Especially since I mostly brew ipa's, where oxygen is a total enemy
