    Another BIAB n00b

Dunk sparging is brilliant whoever thought of it. Then you don't have to have such a think mash. I'll be 2 dollars that BIAB with a dunk sparge in 20% volume of fresh water will give a better efficience than any other brewing method. I plan to add a small, direct fired stainless steel sink...

    Why BIAB?

I could have done it all in one brew pot, but I wanted to be able to make 10 gallon batches with my existing 11 gallong brew pots. If I put 1/2 of the grains in each brew pot and have them recirculate in a figure 8 flow then I can mash the grains for 10 gallons. It also gives me flexibility to...

My work in progress brew stand

Talk about a jet burner! If it doesn't instantly set your face ablaze then the carbon monoxide poisoning will give you a nice buzz. I love the extreme danger in brewing. Nice video.

Brew In A Bag RIMS system

My BIAB only brew rig is coming together. Attached are a couple pics of the rig and a test run of the burner. The solenoids, March 809, and flow meters will be here next week. The pot in the middle will be for dunk sparging and will be ported and have a false bottom for recirculating for a...

Very nice, my new computer background graphics.

    Why BIAB?

Wrong, I'm bringing Huge-Automated-Bling to BIAB. I'm building an automated BIAB rig that will do huge batches, will have automation, and gives me my BLING. This 2 vessel system can either do 2 seperate 5 gallon batches or a Huge 10 gallon batch. Concepts and pics attached. Should be done...

Brew In A Bag RIMS system

I will adjust the flow with ball valves on the output of the pumps; the rotometer will only indicate that the gallons-per-minute of the two pumps are the same so I have steady state conditions. I will not sparge but just recirculate, something my current brew in a bag system does not have. Even...

Brew In A Bag RIMS system

I plan to use Rotometer type flow meters. I'm worried that if I eyeball it then one pot will have a thinner mash than the other. I think the first couple runs I'll just make a single 5 Gallon batch and not the 10 Gallon option. I used to use a mash tun and do the single infusion mash but...

Brew In A Bag RIMS system

I deleted my old thread because frankly I got bored of it. I love the brew in a bag technique but I hate the temp control of the mash. I was going to brew a Brutus 10 clone but wanted more flexibility and didn't wan't to abandon the simplicity of the BIAB. I don't know if anyone has built a...

My so easy anyone can do it tower build.

This is a fairly simple heat/mass transfer problem. Different assumptions and energy flow rates will give you either a yes/no answer on if the tank outside will provide more pints. There is no arguing this....it depends on the inputs and the assumptions.

My so easy anyone can do it tower build.

This is more of a heat/mass transfer problem than a "simple chemistry" problem solved by a single equation. The critical error was assuming steady state conditions. If you're moving the CO2 from a warm environment to a cold environment then depending on the rate of transfer of energy...

    Single vessel kettle/fermenter?

I really like where you're going with this. I always dump the hops and break into my conical fermenters without problems. Make that a brew in a bag and you can do everything in one vessel and put out a lot of beer at the same time. You'll need a hoist to pull out the bag or set up something...
