    This is after cold crashing 24 hrs. I think infected but not terribly. I'll bottle tonight. Was 1.009 so it's only gonna be 3.4%, but it was only supposed to be 4.2 in the first place. Really just hope it tastes ok.

    My bad it was 1.5lb crystal. Was supposed to be an All Day Ipa clone.

    There are some scratches in it which may be the issue. I'm gonna cold crash and bottle and hope for the best.

    Ok. I did read hoppy beers are hard to get infected.     My autosiphon is new. This gives me an excuse to buy a carboy anyway. Should my fermentation be done? It was a session to begin with and my OG was only 1.035.

    I wasn't talking about tossing the batch. Just the bucket. Second time in a row that I had a problem. It's been through about 15 or so batches so maybe end of its life.

    Would it help to rack to a secondary at this point? Trying to avoid all that crap on top and see if it pops back up?

    Ok. This is 10 days in. Dry hopped 2 days ago. Is all that from hops or is it infected? If infected I'm throwing away the bucket.

    I always stop at 1.010 because that's apparently where you start to get tannins.

    My grain/water ratio was around the 1.5 range. When I put the lid on my mash tun it was 152 and 152 when it was done. I might be sparing a bit hot. My grain bed stayed 165-170 the whole time. I did end up adding 1 gallon water. Runnings were getting below 1.010 and was still shy of my target.
