That's great info, I'm also thinking that when I get a kettle large enough for a full boil that I'll need to add a wort chiller unless the lid of the ferm is similar size to the kettle, I could just attach hoses to it and viola.

That is a killer set up. I like the idea of the frozen milk jugs, might have to incorporate that.

Nj, I just ordered the chronical fermenter on Friday, what is the longest that you've fermented a batch in your bucket with the FTSs?

This post hits on all of the points that I took in to consideration; last night I showed the ss chronical and FTS heater to my mrs and she asked "why don't you just get it?" Couldn't think of a compelling argument so I ordered it :)

i have the bottle capper that came with my kit and would like to upgrade to a good table-top version. anyone have any recommendations for a good one?

I actually have seen several videos where people hook up a couple of lines to cooler and use a fish tank heater to heat the water and ice for cooler..... Looks ok, where heating is going to be my primary concern I'm wondering if others have used a fermentor wrap or heating blanket of some type?
