    Show me how you drain...

Have not built my stand yet. Was also thinking I could just put it on locking casters and the whole stand/table could roll to the side or forward to a spot I could hang a ratcheting pulley from.

    Show me how you drain...

@gtmaus- so your vent is through the side or back of your hood, not the top? You have an in line fan?

    Show me how you drain...

Is that in the middle of your hood, gtmaus?

    Show me how you drain...

I would love to be able to use the pulley but I have a range hood over the pot to vent the steam. I am trying to figure something out so I will not have to move the pot (15 gallon). Thought about creating a base on drawer slides. Slide it to the side for mashing and draining. Slide it closed...

    Show me how you drain...

Your bag- grain bag that is. Building my basement e-biab set up and installed wiring and my hood today. Besides sliding the pot over to the side, I can't figure out a good way to hook up a system to drain the grain bag ( I actually will have a bag inside a strainer pot as it is a legacy Pico...

How high can a hood be?

Well, hopefully 220cfm will pull enough out. If not I will lower it til it works.

How high can a hood be?

At 16-22" I wouldn't even have room to fit the 15 gallon pot. Think I am going to go high, then I can always lower if needed. Thanks for all te replies and insight.

How high can a hood be?

Just says "mount it below the cabinet" since they are meant to be in a kitchen under the cabinets. Usually there is a minimum height required so you don't melt anything.

How high can a hood be?

Hi all- Setting up my basement for an EBIAB system and found a decent exhaust hood. It can pull 220cfm on the high setting. I was running through the electrical stuff with my father in law and started talking about the hood. He said it needed to be mounted at the same height it would be in...

    Perlick Century tower

It's a piece of junk. I'll do you a favor and take it off your hands for you. You don't need to be burdened with that. I'll even pay for shipping. All kidding aside- looks like a nice find! Wish I had one. I have the kegerator but the tap is crap on mine.

Splice off of an existing 30 Amp run?

Hi all- I am looking to add a 30 AMP outlet for electric brewing. I have room in my panel to run another 30 amp circuit but was also wondering if I could splice off of my existing 30 amp run for my dryer. There is a junction box for the dryer run close to where I need my new outlet to be...

    Blood, Sweat, and Beers

Thanks for sharing that. The Shorebilly Brewery is about 30 minutes from me. I have been following their story. He just won the lawsuit against him about trademark infringement. He is not going back to the name though. He went ahead and changed it to Backshore brewing a while ago to avoid...

Maryland Nice Exhaust Hood on CL- not mine

Found this nice hood on CL - not mine, just passing along. Be good for someone but too big for my one vessel electric BIAB system. It is located on the Eastern Shore of Md. https://easternshore.craigslist.org/app/4911126794.html

    Brewery Hype/Supply and Demand

Sam from Dogfish said they will intentionally not sell over a certain amount of their 60 min. IPA to distributors- I think he said 50%. His reasoning is that he does not want to only be known for that one beer. I think he even used the quote of Sierra Nevada you think of Pale Ale. He said...

    Nano/Micro Brewery question

A lot of them do not ferment as long as we do- maybe only 5-7 days. They then transfer it to a brite tank to carbonate and either serve it from there or package it from the brites. Some do bottle condition too though. They uses carb stones in line or in the tanks to carb it up rather quickly...

Whats the ultimate complement your beer has got?

My wife asked me to brew her a Corona clone. I was hesitant but researched and found one that looked like it would work. She likes it better than Corona. We had a case left and she told me I needed to make it again so she didn't run out. Made me feel good. Sent from my iPhone using Home Brew
