    First Brew (Final Product)

I'm not sure, the guy at the wine kit store said you just dump this whole bag into the wart and slowly stir. http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/864/1000796.jpg/

    Question about starting fermenting

**** okay, and as for the sig, woops shouldn't be that big. what i was talking about the dextrose is in our past two beerkits we have used munton's beerkit enhancer. and within 3 hours theres about 4 inches of foam and **** in the bucket stuck to the top of the lid. but this time we used plain...

    Question about starting fermenting

so we started a stout today and after adding the water sugar and malt and stirring there was a large amount of foam on the top. so not thinking any more about it, I scooped the foam off and took the OG reading then added yeast, would this cause an effect? also we used plain dextrose our other...

    First Brew (Final Product)

So we just finished bottling the English Bitter I started about three weeks ago, i started of with what was supposedly an Original Gravity of 1.023 but I think I read it wrong. because it tastes stronger and ended up with a Final Gravity of 1.009 Give or take a .001. but i was sceptical at the...

    Label Removal Thread

5 - 20 minutes in Cold water, and a knife. usually the labels are really easy to peel after soaking in water, Molson Canadian, and Budweiser. Labatt Blue and Keith's Not so easy.

    Pros/Cons of Yeast

it was suppose to be a 23L batch, (6 US gallon? I'm Canadian) and i had up to 25L? If im correct, i managed to scoop out a few L before the malt mixed with the water too much. i know its not messed up to the point its disturbing to drink, but a few different mistakes i made messed it up. where...

    Pros/Cons of Yeast

    Pros/Cons of Yeast

What are way's that i could increase the ABV because right now, my OG is 1.023 and my gravity now that i have racked it into the carboy is 1.009, fermenting at around 80 - 81 F which only gives me a ABV of about 2%.. I was hoping for around 3 - 5 % ABV. how could i increase it if possible. and...

    Pros/Cons of Yeast

Is it of any benefit to add extra yeast to your brew, I'm making a Coopers English bitter and it came with a 7g packet of coopers yeast, so if i added another packet of yeast will it have any benefit/disadvantage to my brew. EDIT: i wouldn't add the extra packet to this brew at the moment, but...
