Best names for your beer batch?

I haven't bottled anything in a while, but I was looking at some of the labels I created and found this one, which should get bottled again sometime in July.

    What are you drinking now?

Brewery X Citra Loves Nelson. I bought this when it first came out and they had a Shel Silverstein "The Giving Tree" label. It's different now, I wonder if they hit for copyright infringement? Tasty beer, no matter how you wrap it.

What I did for beer today

Making a Maris Otter-Centennial SMaSH. Hopefully get around to moving some kegs around so I can start pouring the Guava Saison and the Pear Agave Cider.

    What are you drinking now?

*cough, cough, cough* um, two times that?

    What are you drinking now?

Post-Costco celebratory beverage. “I survived the lines (and the parking lot)!

    What are you drinking now?

Done driving for the day, now for the Q!

What I did for beer today

Refilled the sparkling mineral water kegs, prepped water and grain for a Maris Otter-Centennial SMaSH tomorrow, and set up a starter of London Dry on the stir plate.

    What are you drinking now?

Still on H2O, as I need to drop off Daughter #1 at LAX for her two weeks visiting family in Europe with Daughter #2 (who's already there doing the archaeology thing in Transylvania). But when I get back, there will be beer! Happy 4th!

    Don't Do That.

CO2 1-20# on the Kegerator 1-10# on the keezer 1-5# sitting on a shelf yelling, "Put me in coach!"

Very frustrating 3rd and 4th brews! How to recover?

I was and (probably) will be again, a chef. I love playing with ingredients in beer; some days, it's like a mystery box (or walk-in clear-out special of the day). I recommend, if you have not already done so, reading the free PDF of Palmer's "How to Brew." The 4th edition is great, but the...

Freebie surprise - what shall I do with it?

You could mix it with FAJC and make Peach Cider.

    What are you drinking now?

    One just wasn’t enough.

    What are you drinking now?

Just got done checking out the retreat site where I will be a week-long cooking fool for about 70 of my students, end of July. Days like this remind me that a brewpub can be a retirement plan. Now that I’m off the LA freeways, this:

Up to date information on beer guns vs. counter pressure fillers

I also started with the Biermuncher, then moved to a Beergun, and now also have a Tapcooler. If the kegs are in my keezer, which uses picnic taps, I usually just do the Biermuncher rather than setting up the Beergun. If the kegs are in the kegerator, which has actual taps, the Tapcooler is...

Accidentally set fermenter away to high a temp. Did I kill my yeast?

We all do stuff, enjoy. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/dont-do-that.527228/

California 5gal Oak barrel with stand

If no one else claims it, bring it with you and I’ll take it. Do you do PayPal or Zelle? Just in case it’s still available.

    What are you drinking now?

Listening to kids play in the sprinklers, hummingbirds fight over the feeder, some nice tunes...almost time to fire up the grill. This is #2, I think there are a few more in my future.

No chance you make it to the LA area anytime, is there?

Rice Beer for the 1st Time - Some Questions for the Talk

I boil the rice in more water than is required if it were going to be eaten, making sure that it is fully cooked. I like to use whole brown rice because it adds layers of flavor that hulled rice doesn't, but it's not to everyone's taste. When all the grains have gone boom, ~45 min or so, I can...

    Buying rhizomes from Yakima Valley

I currently have 8 varieties and I was worried about when they would sprout up; I thought some were dead (both last year and this year). I was wrong this year (last year I replaced only 1), it's just differences in the plant. The NeoMex is almost 6', but it is shaded by a 10' tall cherry...
