    Virginia Dark Star burner

Got a dark star burner free when I purchased a new kettle from Northern Brewer a couple weeks ago. Don't really need it and don't have the space to store it either. Brand new and unopened. Asking $40 with buyer paying shipping but also willing to work something else out. Located in...

Would you go all-grain or start legging first?

Thanks for all the input! Leaning towards upgrading to a nice 15 gal kettle and going BIAB. Prob could also look into some fermentation equipment or do kegging as well.

Would you go all-grain or start legging first?

Thanks for all the responses! Definitely lots of good thoughts to consider. I've got the burner but not the kettle for all grain. The BIAB option is intriguing. I do believe I've got the fermentation temp under control. I've got a storage room off my garage that essentially is in a hill and...

Can you detect off-tastes before bottling?

I did clean it, however probably not as thoroughly as I should have. Hoping it's just some machining oils since it's a SS pot (tried the scratch test). If the beer tastes fine would you still bottle it? Or just take the lesson learned and throw it out?

Can you detect off-tastes before bottling?

New brewer that has benefited immensely from this place! My first brew, BB Imperial Blonde Kit, has been in my primary for about two weeks. Planning to give it another week, but am wondering if you can sample it for off tastes before bottling and bottle conditioning? I'm mainly concerned about...
