    Thats not a knife...

I change it up often, but I'm currently carrying a Spyderco Delica 4 with a full flat grind in blue. Mainly as a tool, not so much for protection. *Not my picture

    12-12-12 Wee Heavy Recipe Formulation

I never ended up making it. Got busy and by the time I was ready to brew it, I figured it wouldn't have enough time to age. The oak ended up in another big beer very like this one though. I made a beer with 95% warminster maris otter, 4% carastan and 1% black barley to commemorate my first...

Autumn Seasonal Beer Samhain Pumpkin Ale

The original recipe is for 5.5 gallons, so you can double it to make 11. If you double it and only make 10, you'll come in high on gravity and the IBUs will be off.

Autumn Seasonal Beer Samhain Pumpkin Ale

Let me know how it stacks up! Lagered Samhain... You might be on to something! :D

    Beer For An Unborn Kid

So I crashed the primary to 32 degrees after fermentation was done and it had been sitting there for the last couple of weeks. Yesterday I racked it to a secondary that was purged with CO2 on top of a couple sticks of used oak. The nice thing about racking it that cold, was that as it warmed...

Autumn Seasonal Beer Samhain Pumpkin Ale

I mentioned it a couple weeks ago but my plan for this year's version of Samhain Pumpkin Ale is going to get the imperial treatment. I'm also going to add a bit of vanilla butter and nut flavoring at kegging to get something along the lines of ST Pumking. The starter of WY1450 is spinning away...

    Dog Breeders are Nuts!

Great looking dog! That's awesome that you were able to find him at a shelter. How old is he?

    Dog Breeders are Nuts!

Haha, I wasn't sure whether I should post their responses since it doesn't factor into my question regarding if my response was appropriate, but since there is interest, here are the two emails I received. I haven't and don't plan on responding. Email from the lady who wrote the other emails...

    Tell me about pumkin ale

The problem with using real pumpkin is that usually there are none to be found in the middle of summer when people start brewing pumpkin ales. If you wait until they are available, your beer may not be ready until after the season. But I can definitely understand wanting to do things yourself...

American Amber Ale Caramel Amber Ale

Keep your ferment temps in the right range and it will be great at 6 weeks. Good luck!

    Dog Breeders are Nuts!

I know that they are actually resellers of the "Blue Ridge Beef" raw food that they "require". I'm not aware of any connection between them and Bil-Jac, though. As far as Brolly's weight, I agree with you and our vet agrees with you. He was starting to get just slightly under the condition...

    Dog Breeders are Nuts!

Thanks for all the responses. I'm glad I wasn't way out of line on this. Haha, yeah I saw that after I had sent my response, but it is funny. I've come to realize that they don't listen to anything I say so even if I did mention it they would either ignore it, rationalize it, or fail to...

    Dog Breeders are Nuts!

Oh, man. Is it me or are dog breeders nuts? Let me tell you a quick story of how some stuff just went down and you tell me if I'm overreacting or if my response was justified. My wife is upset at how I handled the situation, but there's only so much abuse a man can take before he says enough...

American Amber Ale Caramel Amber Ale

:mug::mug:If you think it's good now, wait until it's been in the bottle for a couple more weeks!

    Caprica????

Caprica is completely different than BSG, but somehow gives you a familiar feeling when you watch it. It's kind of slow, but I enjoyed it.

    Soapmaking

If you try it, please document it and post up. I don't know what's going to happen when the mayan calendar runs out, but I'm pretty sure being able to make soap from ashes and fat will come in handy. If you teach us how, at least those of us who survive will be well stocked with alcohol and...
