    Dank Double IPA

Doh! Can't believe I forgot them. Where would you suggest I add them for maximum dankness? I was thinking at the beginning of the boil. Also how accurate is the IBU calculator on Beersmith (My first time using it) because adding .5 oz of Columbus at 90 minutes shows an IBU of 184

    Dank Double IPA

Go easy it's my first recipe. I am doing a small 2 gal batch to get my feet wet in AG. I am a big fan of super hoppy IIPAs. Should be about 8.3% ABV and 117 IBUs. Please critique and give your advice. Type: All Grain Batch Size: 2.00 gal Boil Size: 2.83 gal Boil Time: 90 min End of Boil...

    Baby Beer

To update this. I decided on a RIS for a good baby beer. One of my last extract kits as I will be starting AG soon. After missing original gravity I'm happy to report my Russian Imperial Stout is still a healthy 9.2% ABV. Time to age on oak and cacao nibs until the new baby is here.

    Making the Switch

I had considered the mobile software but also tossed around the full computer version since I'm known to swap phones and go between Android and iPhone. Thanks for the walk through.

    Making the Switch

Oh okay. I read through your post and see you use the same setup as I will be. What size batches are you making? Also how do you figure out temps and grain needed since I know most recipes seem to be for 5 gal batches? Do you use Beersmith or similar software? I hadn't purchased it yet since I...

    Making the Switch

I may be trying an all grain recipe soon. Now with BIAB what is the process? I see sparge and no sparge, is there a choice and if so what are the differences?

    Making the Switch

Thanks Doug. Talking with my wife, who is pregnant and as such cant taste the delicious brew at the moment mentioned small batches may be better since it is just me drinking it now. So really all I would need is the bag to do BIAB?

    Making the Switch

Awesome responses. I currently make 5 gal batches. If possible I would like to stick to that size. Would that be about a 15 gal kettle? Can I use my little 5 gal kettle for anything?

    Making the Switch

I've done a number of partial mash extract batches and was planning on making the switch to all grain. I read that it can be done cheaply and expensively. My LHBS has an all grain setup with pot, false bottom, ball valve and temp gauge. Would a pre made setup be easier? Also what exactly is...

Coopers Real Ale, Citra and Cascade

Brewed the batch last night. Aroma was pleasant and hoppy and wort taste wasn't bad at all...we will see how it goes

Coopers Real Ale, Citra and Cascade

Would 1 oz of each at the given intervals be good followed by an oz of each at 3 minutes?

Okay. Like another oz of Citra maybe?

Coopers Real Ale, Citra and Cascade

Okay and those hop additions should be good for aroma and flavor right? I am a huge Citra fan and really like cascade as well so it should be an interesting and hoppy ale

Coopers Real Ale, Citra and Cascade

Hey everyone, Brewing my first batch and have a Coopers Real Ale kit, 3 lbs dextrose, 1 oz Citra and 1 oz Cascade hops. Already bought the dextrose so I won't be using DME or LME this time. Help me put together something good.

    Baby Beer

Haha! Sorry for a poorly worded title. I didn't even think of a KBS clone..that's a really good idea, my wife and I love that beer.
