20c (68F) is high for a Lager. What yeast did you use? Was this a wort ready, just add water and yeast deal?

acetylene regulator will have a CGA 510 fitting for the acetylene tank. A CO2 bottle will have a CGA 320 outlet. acetylene is stored in a low pressure tank. 225psig @70 deg F is what the Compressed Gas Association states CO2 is stored in a higher pressure tank 816psig @68 deg F is what...

    Is beer carbonated or not?

Carbing pressure (other then "burst" carbing if you try that) should be the same as serving pressure So if you like the Vol of CO2 10 PSI at your serving temp gives you in a glass of beer... then you serve it at that pressure as well. What temp are you serving at? ( What is the temp of the...

    Is beer carbonated or not?

Long"ish"(7ft works for me, but so does my other line at 14ft) lines, chilled keg, lines, shanks, inner part of the tap at 43-36 deg and NOT over carbed beer = nice pours That is what worked for me.. I over carbed my first keg, under cooled it and had nothing but foam, and later flat beer in a...

COMPLETELEY NEW, What kit to start with

In general you can not sanitize anything that is dirty.. so cleaning them first is important, de-labeling them at the same time THEN sanitize. There are lots of right workable ways. ME? I use oxycleen Free in a bucket (30 gal plastic trash can bought just for this) Let them sit in the...

COMPLETELEY NEW, What kit to start with

When you ordered the brew kit, you had to select, All extract, mini mash, or all grain.. Only the All grain has the option for unmilled.

    Do you strain/filter your wort?

Fining agent and cold crash has worked well for me.. Irish Moss last 15 min in the boil, 3~4 days at 34 deg f. drops everything to the bottom and makes for a hard cake. Really helps me get more beer and almost no yeast/junk when racking to keg or bottling bucket. On something I put in...

    Do you strain/filter your wort?

Honestly, I have no idea on flavor, ect.. It simply makes it easier later.. less crap in the bottom of the fermentor , means less crap transferred to keg or bottling bucket.
  15. E

    Do you strain/filter your wort?

Strain yes, filter no. Why?.. to remove as much hot break and trub from the wort in brew pot before going into the fermenter and pitching yeast.

Please help...Ball Lock Quick Disconnect on Corny Keg Not Attaching to Poppet...

Just in case they are switched... Take a look at the profile differences between gas and liquid.. and the cut markings at the base of the gas post.

Please help...Ball Lock Quick Disconnect on Corny Keg Not Attaching to Poppet...

Seeing as a new liquid out ball lock disconnect is all of $6.00 or less....... I'd hit your local HBS place pick one up and try that.. Not really worth the time to keep troubleshoot a hunk of plastic. The steel ball lock post is pretty indestructible in general other then the rubber seal on the...

    Sour / acidic taste maybe?

Outside tasting results.. The ABHS Honey Wheat ale is off for sure with a pucker not expected from a beer this style, though, by accident we found it became more palatable and sweeter if warmed up to something close to room temp,, perhaps a little cooler. The Cottage Saison ale has a taste...

    Sour / acidic taste maybe?

If this is an infection, caused by something I used to rack to the keg, or the kegs/ lines/ fittings.. I should expect it to get worse.. yes? That in itself may be a way to confirm what it is.....

    Sour / acidic taste maybe?

No Im not sure....I don't have the experience, the palate, the taste experience to say what Im tasting.. Im guessing based on text write ups. And for all I know, what Im tasting is appropriate for the beer I brewed. I like green apples, I eat green apples. What Im tasting is not green...
