How long will 3.6 lbs of CO2 last?

The tank will have roughly the same tank pressure (at the same tank temp) with 1 OZ of liquid CO2, and 20 LB of liquid CO2... .. the gas pressure remains pretty much the same. So the high side "gauge" reads ok till that last bit of liquid CO2 is gone.... then you see a very rapid tank pressure...

Safe to use CO2 regulator with solenoid? (help!)

Or just buy a nice new dual adjustable low side Tapright...:) http://www.kegconnection.com/taprite-dual-body-regulator-three-gauge/ And sell the Aquarium one

Safe to use CO2 regulator with solenoid? (help!)

Taking it off is a easy and safe deal.. see the brass fitting between the regulator and solenoid? That is a common brass fitting.. likely the hex size is 9/16". Remove the brass fitting and the solenoid and then attach your beer gas line to that low side port. The low side port is likely...

Safe to use CO2 regulator with solenoid? (help!)

Needle valve for flow rate adjustment

Safe to use CO2 regulator with solenoid? (help!)

The solenoid does not "pump" .. it is an on / off valve.. on the low side output of the regulator.Normally used with a timer, not plugged directly into a wall outlet. The tank valve is opened, regulator pressure set, and the gas flow is stopped when the solenoid is not activated (closed) when...

Safe to use CO2 regulator with solenoid? (help!)

The regulator is set to an output pressure... once that pressure is equalized in the keg.... .. no more CO2 is "pumping" in to the keg. The solenoid is just extraneous equipment in a kegging set up... If you want to set it to be activated (open) all the time.. the keg wont care.. :D Or...

How long are co2 tanks supposed to last?

My apologies as well, did not intend to highjack the thread.. Gasket or O ring,,, buying a replacement is the same cost.. and you have a great point.. .If you frequently remove and replace the tank/ regulator,, a solid, more robust gasket will last longer.. making it a better choice :tank...

How long are co2 tanks supposed to last?

Perfect,, and now, replace that $.02 O ring you have that is worn out and your tanks will work perfectly without adding a washer it does not need. To each his own, some prefer to fix things that are broke, others prefer to make it work any way they can. If your system carbs and pours beer as...

    Pretty Excited About Kegging

This has been a recipe for success in my venture into kegging. I struggled with the first two in the keg, but the last 5 went perfectly using the process above... I'm at 3 kegs on hand now (and three taps :D) ,,,when I get to 5, 6, more on kegs on hand I'll have time to pressurize, set...

How long are co2 tanks supposed to last?

I assumed folks would like a correct answer.. .. I see you don't agree.. Have a Home brew :tank: Oh, and go buy a $.02 O ring and fix that regulator of yours :D

How long are co2 tanks supposed to last?

Replace the damaged O ring :D might be a good plan :mug: The valve on a CO2 tank like a home brewer might use (2lb to 200lb) valve is an industry standardized CGA320.. that style valve has a flat face... and unless damaged will work with a regulator using a serviceable O ring design...

How long are co2 tanks supposed to last?

Not all set ups use a washer style gasket between the regulator and tank. My Tap right Reg uses an O ring.. But for sure check, recheck all needed gaskets or o rings are installed, and nick free. And the soapy water in a spray bottle is a great idea.. it works well to find leaks

Aeration question - pure O2 not needed?

Common size for O2 regulator output is 9/16" - 18 (RH Male), you can get a barbed fitting that screws into that outlet, sized to fit your tubing size, or an adapter the will then screw in to a barbed fitting. I cheated and turned down a fitting to work with 1/4 ID hose..

Aeration question - pure O2 not needed?

Hunt CL, or local ads, auctions.. Pick up a used O2 cylinder and regulator.. Can be had for cheap, and then just swap a cylinder at your local welding gas store when needed (if only using for beer, you may never need a second refill, depending on size tank you find and how much you brew.)

Aeration question - pure O2 not needed?

So where (when) is the cut off, from aerate wort is good, Oxidizing wort/ beer is bad? 10 hours after pitching? 20? 2 days? 10 days? To the OP's question.. aerating wort would be done real easy with O2 and a .5 micron stone on the end of a SS tube as can be bought from several HBS places. If...
