A cool trick with the wine thief is to submerge it about 2 inches and shake it up and down quickly and you can fill it right up. Helps depending on the depth of the liquid you have.

My Cascade and Mt. Hood Hops grow really well in NE Ohio. I've seen threads on here where people made automatic waters that worked pretty well. Example: Milk jugs and pin holes through the bottom (low tech and inexpensive). That may help while you are away.

So now that I brought it inside and looked real close it is a Firestone with Sanaloy finish. Also has a B 2 etched in it. What's up with this style valve?
