TVs with an ACTUAL 120hz refresh?

Yeah that is actually less than I expected it to be. Doesn’t seem like a bad deal.

TVs with an ACTUAL 120hz refresh?

I just checked bestbuy.com looks like the Q70 series starts the 120Hz screens now but those are $$$

TVs with an ACTUAL 120hz refresh?

I snagged a Nvidia 3060 TI from Best Buy on its release date. Don’t know how that happened but I’m sure happy it did. I use a 27” LG ultra gear 27” monitor @ 144 frames. Now that I have a 120 Hz phone, I can see the flicker on a 60 hz phone. I know the Samsung 8 Series 75” used to be a native...

Anyone else dealing with smell/taste loss from COVID?

I had Covid in Dec 2021 and one side effect I’m still dealing with is ear congestion. My ears are popping and it’s very annoying. Tried Zyrtec and pseudoephedrine and neither worked. Anyone else dealing with that? There’s no pain. It’s not a sinus infection.

    Machine oil

SS response: “Hey Matt, Thanks for reaching out. Since these are designed for use with producing beverages, the machining oils and polishing residue are generally regarded as food-safe, and while we strongly recommend cleaning before use, if any of these do in up in your beer, cider, mead...

    Machine oil

As far as the ingredients that the kettle saw: 6 lbs of Pilsner malt, 5oz of Saaz, Wyeast nutrient, whirfloc, lactic acid. I assume anything that would be shipped on the kettle would have to be food grade or at minimum non-toxic. I imagine otherwise they would have a huge liability exposure.

    Machine oil

So as far as the kettle currently, it’s definitely clean now. I filled it to the top with a strong concentration of TSP -> drained and rinsed -> scrubbed with BKF -> rinsed -> scrubbed with oxy clean and rinsed. I’m confident nothing is left. There is a chance I’m wrong and it wasn’t oil at all...

I just sent an email to SS brewtech. I’ll report back..

    Machine oil

Machine oil and metal debris, definitely sounds pretty bad lol. But it did get a good scrub so I assume any metal debris was wash away and like you said, it was just a thin film of oil. Debating either dump or RDWHAHB. (Pending a sample of course because if something is off when I do, I’ll just...

    Machine oil

I just bought a SS Brewtech Mini kettle for small/ test batches. I’ve heard of these kettles having machining oil on them and that they need a good cleaning. Never had an issue with my other kettles. I know they recommend cleaning with TSP but for some reason I ignored that advice and gave it a...

    Corny Lid with tri clamp

I have not. I’ve been considering just buying another fermenter for my hazy IPA’s and other beers that require dry hopping, and then continuing to ferment my other beers in my keg. I wanted the tri clamp port to make dry hopping easier and oxygen free, but even if I do that, I have the issue of...

New England IPA "Northeast" style IPA

Thank you to all the contributors on this thread. This came out fantastic. 10 gallon batch. Used 1 pound each of Citra and mosaic. Threw in a 2 oz packet of galaxy in the dry hop as well just because I had it laying around. I had some issues with starters so I had to pitch dry yeast. Lallemand...

    Post your infection

Wouldn’t you expect it to be the same as the prior? Or because if it was infected, it would have had a chance to grow in the starter and would have more obvious signs in the next?

    Post your infection

I’m not going to use it at this point I’m just interested in learning more about infections and how to identify them.

    Post your infection

I swallowed it if that says anything lol. The best word I could use to describe it was musty. I actually took a few sips. It was far from rancid. I always sip my starters and I find them to be decent, but usually only a few days after making them and after cold crashing.

So I tasted today and took a gravity reading. It obviously didn’t taste good, it tasted slightly gross but I think that’s more because it’s been sitting with a foil lid for however long. I would say it tasted like that more likely because of oxidation. My fiancé said it smelled like puke but I...
