    Bad co2??

Fire extinguisher companies and paintball shops all get their gas from welding supply companies.

Keezer Freezer with Audible/Visual Temp Alarms

That looks great. I think I'm going to hold off until after Christmas and see if the price comes down a bit. I've got a 20 cu ft upright I can use with a picnic tap in the mean-time. I just ordered 2 cornie today... I'm really looking forward to kegging.

    Doomsday Preppers

I didn't even think about the sanitization piece. Regardless... here's an ironic article in the local newspaper today: http://theadvocate.com/columnists/4617961-55/smiley-anders-for-dec-11

How many 5 gallom cornies can you fit in there?

    Bad co2??

They can rust internally for several reasons. Left outdoors with the valve open they can draw in moisture. I've seen cases where the hydro tester didnt thoroughly dry the cylinder after testing. If you think there's even a slight chance of internal rusting, dump the cylinder and have it...

    Doomsday Preppers

I didn't think about this before posting, but in such an event I think beer will become a highly valued commodity... primarily due to the fact that few will be able to produce it.

Wow. Only one response. Is this in the wrong forum?

    Doomsday Preppers

I have to admit, I can't get enough of the Nat Geo series "Doomsday Preppers." Some of those people are a little crazy... Some a little practical. Though I'm not much of a prepper myself, it makes me wonder what would be in store for the future of beer in a doomsday scenario. How would...

    Bad co2??

I've got about six years in the business, and I've seen argon that was contaminated with oxygen, and trace elements of argon in helium... like, ppm's picked up by a lab that was analyzing it with a mass spectrometer. I guess it depends on the distributor. This is not relevant, I just wanted...

Keezer Freezer with Audible/Visual Temp Alarms

I'll check there, but the best prices I've found so far have been from cornykeg.com. I had a hard time sourcing the thermostat, but I found the one I wanted from grainger this morning so I snatched it up while it was still available. I kind of have a "staged" plan, and my first step is just to...

Some lowlife "broke" into my car

Get a dog so you can sleep at night. Second - consider this scenario. House A and House B are identical, except that house A is occupied by a gun owning shooting enthusiast. If you're a thief and you know this, which one are you going to target? The path of least resistance... though, the...

Some lowlife "broke" into my car

I used to lock my faceplate in the glove box. I only had one CD loaded down with MP3 files, so nothing to steal there. I was more concerned about someone stealing the spare tire.

Sanitizing Kegging System: How far do you go?

    Good tip. Thanks.

Keezer Freezer with Audible/Visual Temp Alarms

Perfect. Did you click on that link? If so, what price is it giving you. When I checked it yesterday it was $295. Today it's $329. I wonder if it's giving different prices based on the IP addresses?

    Bad co2??

I was talking about from the producers, but I suppose you're right. If the distributor uses the same manifolds for all of their products, there very well could be contamination depending on their vacuum/purging practices. The company I deal with has a completely separate manifold for their CO2.

Sanitizing Kegging System: How far do you go?

I was concerned that there might be contamination in the regulator or gas lines that would be flushed into the beer when hooked up (primarily because I have an old regulator that's been riding around in the toolbox of my truck for the last couple of years... still new in box though). Based on...

    Bad co2??

I actually just started a thread asking this exact same question. I realized I've got a CO2 regulator in my truck that I bought several years ago and I'm sure it's far from sanitized.

Keezer Freezer with Audible/Visual Temp Alarms

A buddy of mine just got this freezer, and I was thinking it would be perfect for my keezer project: http://www.sears.com/kenmore-8.8-cu-ft-chest-freezer-1694/p-04616949000P?prdNo=6&blockNo=6&blockType=G6 Until I see that it has audible & visual temperature alarms when the internal...

Sanitizing Kegging System: How far do you go?

How far upstream does a kegging system need to be sanitized (if at all)? Should I sanitize all the way back through the regulator? This seems like it would be impractical and I would doubt that any bars/restaurants do any sanitizing of their equipment. Should I just hook everything up and go?
