Carared its a good substitute

Anyone try under pitching conan yet? I'm wondering if I should step it up again or under pitch right now. There was some hypothesizing about that previously...

Caravienne adds a nice sweetness, I always use it in my ipas actually. Carared is a good substitute with similar characteristics.

Yeah I'm doing a citra ipa with conan on sunday and a HT clone later this week. Will post results.

Drinking some HT now, definitely more dank/pine than grapefruit.

Without the house yeast, Conan, this will not taste at all like HT. Just being realistic...

You cab replace with flaked wheat and it would be fine

Crush grains, normal hops, use 2 s05 packets which is the cost of 1 wyeast.

Going to brew another batch this weekend. The original recipe is perfect, but I have to add more hops since they are like crack to me. I plan on bumping up the ibus to 70 and doing lots of late additions and then a big dry hop with american hops. Anyone try this yet?

There is tons of simcoe dankness. I think it's simcoe, chinook, centennial...maybe more but they get lost. You guys should move to Vermont, it is like paradise here. Been here for 3 years and sadly leaving next year! Need to drink all the HT I can for the next few months

My wife just surprised me with a 4 pack! I'm detecting some chinook in there for sure in the nose.

I doubt those hops are in it, that is a very tame beer compared to heady, hop wise. If anyone is in vermont, try Edward by Hillfarmstead, it tastes exactly like a regular ipa version of heady topper. Fantastic.

My first batch was originally sweety and boozy but mellows nicely with time, let it sit a month or two.

Agreed, we need to lay off before the heat picks up. Centennial for sure, some simcoe too Skiing is great at Stowe right now, dumping snow as we speak!

Picked up some HT at the cannery today after some skiing at Stowe. 6 hops, multiple employees refused to divulge which hops. No ingredients lying around. Huge blowoffs from all fermentors. Great smelling place!

Let me go buy some and report back, wednesday is delivery day and they always sell out here in burlington by thursday! The whole city is addicted
