Glass carboy with hole on top

Denny is right, these are thinner glass. The green one seems really thin as it's quite light. I'm not sure that I need another project in my life right now (I am at work, sober, thinking more clearly than last night). I will hold off for now. I think it would work though. I've drilled many holes...

Glass carboy with hole on top

To be honest, I think I should change my name to "wasfast4door" considering my car hasn't been on the road in 8 yrs. It's just the name I've been using for a long time. I have a Mitsubishi Galant VR-4, number 1195/2000 made that year for the US. It was fast. Speed takes money and time... I'm...

    Advice/suggestions for a Citra IPA

I have a citra pale ale on tap right now. I split the batch between 2 kegs, dryhopping in one, none in the other. Dry hopped keg... long gone. Non dry hopped keg is going away much slower. I always thought that citra's strengths are flavor and aroma so I did 2.67 oz at flameout and the dry hop...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Tasted my hefe's lastnight. The lemonade w/blueberry seemed to have a subtle blueberry finish, but little of the flavor otherwise. I was having trouble finding differences when one of my friends who had no idea what each was tried one and said "is this blueberry?" I guess my palate wasn't in the...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Bottled yesterday. Sample had no blueberry whatsoever. To be honest, I got the fermenters mixed up and don't know which is which (brewed 7 gallons, split in 2 ferm. One got limeade, one got lemonade w/blueberry). One taste a lot like limes, the other kind of lemonade-ish (I assume this is the...

    Fruit Beer Lemon-Lime Hefe Weizen

Day four, about to add Limeade. Quick question, I have 3.5 gallons in 2 fermenters (split 7 gallon batch). Should I scale back the limeade to 3/4 of a bottle per fermenter? Also, I'm doing 1 limeade and 1 Simply lemonade w/blueberry (lemon blueberry hefe!) I'm excited! I couldn't believe all the...

    Kettle Purchasing Advice

I BIAB in a Bayou Classic 42 qt. I've done 5 gal. batches with 20 lbs. of grain. I wish I had at least a 15 gallon, so had the option of 10 gallon batches, But I also use a propane burner outdoors. I don't think my electric stove could handle my kettle. You could always build a couple...

    Deal on groupon

So after buying this, loading 3 kits into my cart, using coupon code I was awarded a credit of $48.55. Needless to say I cancelled the order and requested my money back from groupon. $59 for an overpriced kit and some online class w/ limited availability and a gift certificate for $20 to be used...

Their barrel ageing program is phenomenal! If you are lucky, sometimes they have 3 on tap. Barrel aged double trouble... delicious.

    Deal on groupon

Yep, I'm an idiot. Wife just showed me how groupon works. The link to the deal details. Not bad of a deal for $59. "I would like my previous statement stricken from the record your honor", lol.

Great Lakes Hops hop crowns 'lucky dog'

+1 for GLH! I stopped by there one night last spring to pickup some of the past years trials they had for $10/ crown. The owner stayed well past closing time to chat about beer and growing hops. Really great guy. When I have more room, I'm heading there.

    Water

What about "spring water"? I have a well that tastes great. It does stain the sink/bathtub, but not bad at all (it will show a streak of brown in the tub if not cleaned for a month). I used "spring water" from some 2.5gal jugs from the grocery store a couple of batches ago. It was a pain and...
