    Cheap compact wort pump

Gotcha, I am going to use 2 together for recirculating my mash tun and whirlpooling.

    Cheap compact wort pump

Go cougs indeed. So nobody has found BSP fittings in the US? I know 1/2" NPT will work but "lots of thread tape" and low pressure wasn't exactly what I was going for.

    Cheap compact wort pump

Has anyone found the 1/2" BSP fittings for the beige pumps? I know 1/2" will work but it I would like to do it right if at all possible. All I find on google and all major sales sites is stuff in Europe. I am trying to use 2 pumps together and would like to just find a 1/2" BSP union or...

    Is whirlpooling worth it?

I have an immersion chiller, so this drop in should work well, still needs fittings but it does save me a valve and bulkhead. Where can I get 3/8" SS tubing? I need that for a few applications so this drop in whirlpool er may be the winner!

    Is whirlpooling worth it?

I figure whirlpooling will cost me roughly, 1 added bulkhead, 1 ball valve, the whirlpool attachment (thinking a hose barb and small price of tubing), 2 x SS hose barbs, 2xSS Female quick-disconnects, and a few more feet of silicone tubing. Totaling about $50. Sounds like I should get myself a...

    Is whirlpooling worth it?

Is it reasonable to forgo all filtration in my boil kettle and just drain out the wort via my ball valve nearest to the bottom of the pot? It seems like the suction created by the ball valve would pull the trub pile created by the whirlpool, right along with the wort.

    Is whirlpooling worth it?

I am building a recirculating mash tun. Which means I now have a pump. I could spring for a bunch of quick disconnects and also use my pump to whirlpool in the boil kettle. Would my money be better spent on things like false bottoms and a hop spider? I currently use a braided stainless steel...

    Seattle?

Is anyone in Seattle actually interested in a group buy? I need camlocks and silicone tubing, I was hoping to get some bulk discounts, maybe save some coin on shipping. I have been price shopping (a ton because its sooo expensive) and it seems the best prices are bargainfittings.com

    PEX for fly sparging

I am guessing that while I am building my RIMS setup I shouldn't really use the PEX for anything other than my mash tun manifold. But it would save me some money over silicone so it's tempting to try...

    PEX for fly sparging

http://www.lowes.com/pd_177002-61002-APPOB2512_4294822025__?productId=3651832&Ns=p_product_price|0 I am looking at this hot water pex piping instead of copper for my fly sparging cooler apparatus. Has anyone ever tried using this in place of copper? The fittings are cheaper the pipe is half...

SS sieve as a false bottom

http://www.etundra.com/DatabaseImages/14252.jpg Has anyone ever tried something like this as a boil kettle false bottom? It goes for half what a false bottom costs and has a finer mesh. I would turn it upside down and drill a hole to attach my fittings.

    Multiple brews in a day

I found a really good price on a pump. My thought is I can setup a heated recirculating mash tun. My thought being once the 1st batch of wort is run off and I have started to boil I clean out and refill my mash tun with water and turn on the heater and pumps to start heating the strike water...

    Gelatin went PLOP!

Is it suppose to congeal after I let it cool down? I added the tablespoon of gelatin to warm water, let sit for 20, microwaved it, shook it up, looked crystal clear, let it sit some more, then poured it into my carboy. The last step there is when I heard (and saw) a plopping of congealed...

    PET Bottles or something else...

I got a $50 gift card for http://us.diybeer.com/. When I first tried to use the gift card I was told via email everything was out of stock... Now almost 2 years later and I am an all-grain brewer, I think the only thing I can really use from this site is the PET bottles. Does anyone have any...

    Cheap compact wort pump

I am still left wondering if I can hook up 2 tan pumps into one 12V DC 5 amp power supply that would in turn plug into a regular outlet. (I bought the pumps and am really just trying to figure out the best way to power them both at the same time.) Good thing they take so long to get here...

    Cheap compact wort pump

Excellent, thanks for the link. I have to ask how does the input power work? Do I need to purchase something in addition to make this work?

    Cheap compact wort pump

Has anyone tried using two of these (TAN) pumps on the same line to improve flow? If so can I just use this adapter and attach two pumps to it? http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006NTNGN0/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 I know embarrassingly little about electronics.

    Multiple brews in a day

What sort of setup do you have? I am really hoping to do 2 5 gallon batches in 8 hrs (excluding cleanup)

    Multiple brews in a day

No pumps but i do use an immersion chiller (50') copper. Is attenuation bad? I was guessing I could monitor the temp and add hot water as needed. With only the one pot is there a method people use to capture the first running of the 2nd batch? Would a bottling bucket work? Since I will boil...
