    My starter doesn't look right

    Both times Ive used the Kolsch yeast Ive had exactly the results your seeing. Its worked perfectly in both batches of beer so I say, your fine.

    High krausen and blow off issue

    I always use a tube but why not put the carboy or bucket in one of those big plastic tubs? I think its funny every time I read about somebody having a mess all over their carpet or floor.

    My very first all grain batch of this is in the barrel and Im very happy to report I hit both my OG and my 5.5 gallons. AG isn't as hard as I thought! She's bubbling already at 2 hours, I went with WL029 Kolsch. Thanks KBI this is a great thread and Im hoping my try is a good one.

    Never did make one, every time I went to our LBS they had no club info but told me they would have the club email or call me. Never heard a word, web site was way behind the last time I looked so I gave up. Ill see if I can make this one, thanks for the heads up.
