Yep I have tried it with it just connected to 13 and 1. Having 14 and 1 tied together is how I've seen it on the diagrams so it does go off if either alarm is triggered.

Using Auber pid 2352 I just finished building a control panel and everything seems to be working correctly except when setting the alarm on the pid it doesn't trigger the buzzer that its connected to. Looking over and over at the wiring everything seems to be ok. I have hot connected to pin 13...

I finally came up with the sensor part of this project. After thinking a lot of what I can and should not put in the HLT I decided on a piece of wood with copper wire running down the side which completes the circuit to trigger the controller. I'm hoping the wood won't impart any flavor so test...

Thanks for the link to that thread about PVC. It wouldn't get up to boiling temps only mashing but the hole idea with plastic leaching stuff out is a big deal to me.

Just a question since I'm pretty new to this as well but isn't 3500 watts going to be way more than 20 amps? I thought most people doing 120v with two elements plugged into two separate outlets on different circuits.

I am planning on making a panel just like this except I will be using a 3000w 120v element, on a 30amp breaker. Would anything need to be changed in P-J's diagram or would it work out to be the same?

I came across a 3000 watt element that says it runs off 120 volt. There's a lot of talk on here about using two 1500 or 2000w elements for people using only 120v but does anybody use this instead? I know I it needs a 30amp circuit which I have so this might be a perfect match for me. I'll try...

I believe it's 1.4 amps.
