    Breakers in control panel ?

I thought I was clear that the 30amp overprotection means it is a 30amp circuit. It does not matter if a device on that circuit uses 1 amp or 30. Using your logic, you could use 22 gauge wire to a device using 3 amps and still use a 30amp breaker. Does this make sense? I think we are done...

    Breakers in control panel ?

You seem to want to have an argument with me based on nothing I have said based on my post my defending commercial recommendations. You defend yourself with arguments I am not making. On the other hand, when you have a circuit protected by a 30 amp breaker, that is a 30 amp circuit. Period. I...

    Breakers in control panel ?

The bolded remarks are the reason for my post. The recommended wire sizes are what is based on code for 30amp circuits. Nothing to do with fear or ignorance, as you were implying, then alluding to comments based on recommendations from a commercial website. That is the reason for my post...

    Breakers in control panel ?

My response was a statement on why businesses specify size X,Y or Z conductors based on the overprotection amp ratings of the circuit. Conductors need to be sized to overcurrent protection or better. If not, it is a code violation. Pretty simple really. What business entity would do otherwise...

    Breakers in control panel ?

It is not fear, nor ignorance. It is N.E.C code and it would be unwise for any business to suggest wiring something that violates code. Lawsuits and such.

    Spa Panel Wiring

Can't you just use a GFCI cord? http://www.homedepot.com/p/Tasco-3-ft-12-3-STW-20-Amp-In-Line-GFCI-Adapter-with-Lighted-End-Blue-with-Yellow-Stripe-04-00103/203534120?MERCH=REC-_-NavPLPHorizontal1_rr-_-NA-_-203534120-_-N

Prototype Previews: Hopback and Heat Stick

Really looking forward to buying one. I plan on using 220v in a keggle. I would like to see some reviews & photos in a keggle before I pull the trigger. I have a 10 gallon pot with a 120v element to assist my stove now, but want to step up to 8 gallon batches soon.

    Mr beer cider kit

If you have a cooler or tote bin large enough to fit the fermenter and a large bowl of ice off to the side, you can keep the temps lower. Most ale yeasts produce better flavor profiles in the mid-60 degree range.

    Fake graff

I would taste test your ratios with a finished product (or commercial american lager) first. Disregarding flavor, you may find 50-50 blend too sweet without a means to dry it out by further fermenting.

    Stove top/Electric BIAB

I run a 10 gallon pot on a stove top with a 1650w (to keep amps down) element in the pot from a GFCI 20 amp outlet near my stove. I do 8 gallons into boil kettle to get 6 gallons into fermeter. A wider pot will distribute weight over a greater surface area. I have a ceramic top stove, not glass...

Chugger Pumps are not powerful enough to clean sanke kegs.

Reviving an old thread, one has to consider wetting the entire inside of the spear to clean, and reducing the inlet to achieve pressure to spray a stream at the top is not ideal. You want to be able to raise the column of water over a distance (length of tube). Gallons per minute and PSI are...

First Post - SIMPLE electric BK ?

What sort of outlets do you have near your stove on the counter? It may be a 20amp GFCI outlet which can be used with a heat stick to supplement your stove burner. I use my stove with an element built into the pot. I can get 8 gallons to boil in a reasonable amount of time.

    Computer geek friends- help please!

Disclaimer: I build/spec engineering grade workstation systems and am IT for a small company and my preferred Microsoft OS is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Windows 8(.0), burn it with fire! That is not a concern on the PC you spec'd out. For your needs, IMHO, there is no reason to fear...

    Computer geek friends- help please!

The Dell computer will be fine. You could always plug a mouse and a monitor into your laptop and run dual screens and would be better than what you have. Have Beersmith on one monitor and HBT on the other.

    120v 10 gallon setup

I use 120v electrical element on stove top assisting burner in a 10 gallon pot. Works fine.

    Chicago Suburban Area Homebrew Shops

Chicago Brew Werks is one of those places that doesn't look like much from the outside, but is a really nice store. I am from South West Michigan, but I find myself in Aurora a few times a year. Since I am going thru Plainfield anyway, I stop in and pick up what is harder to find here locally...

    Kettle vs. Keggle

I am upgrading from a 10 gallon kettle to a keggle for the extra space. Some beers I am just a touch over 8 gallons pre-boil, and boil overs are a battle. If cost is the same, always go bigger.

    A comedy of errors.

Gravity was 1.050 last night. Hydrated and pitched Notty to clean up. Not sure I like the sample, but heck, I never had a sour or under fermented EPA to know the difference.

    A comedy of errors.

I figure the same. Going to take a gravity reading and see where it is tonight.
