    Help on Scottish Export Ale

I am planning on brewing a Scottish Export Ale... or at least something I am going to call a Scottish Ale. ;) 6-7 lbs LME 1/2 lb Simpsons peated malt 1 lb Simpsons Golden Promise 1/2 oz Fuggles 60 min 1/2 oz Fuggles 15 min 1 tsp Irish Moss Muntons gold dry yeast (it's what I have)...

    Karo

Could corn syrup be used in a beer? It seems to me that it would add more fermentable sugar and little if no taste. Isn't it just corn sugar in a liquid form? Kinda like LME vs DME. Maybe I could brew a beer for my friends that think Sam Adams id the be-all-and-end-all in beer.

    HomerT's Labels

Isn't PVA primer white? I've been using a glue stick. Seems to work OK.

    The Councilman's Labels

This was my first label ever. It's for a 1 gal batch of blueberry wine I made earlier this year. We've opened one bottle so far. It's too good to drink! :cross:

    The Councilman's Labels

My first attempt: My 2nd Attempt: I'm working on the Victory Ale label now. I'll post some wine lables later.

    labels

I use Publisher & select Avery 5164 labels. That gives me a 3 1/4" x 4" label that I print on regular paper, cut out & glue stick to the bottles. My Pumpkin Patch Ale is really nice. As soon as I can figure out how to post images, I will.

    Label Making Software

I use Publisher. I d/l'd GIMP, and am still trying to figure it out. I like Publisher because I can set it to print 6-up on plain paper. I'll post some labels as soon as I can figure out how to do it. :drunk:

    Opinion on my Victory Ale

Yes, this was the first thread, but I had self doubts and thought I had put it in the wrong forum. I tried, but I don't believe there is a way to move a thread to a different forum. Sorry about the two threads. :(

    Help with this recipe

The recipe is modified from "Creamy Brown Ale" from Stephen Snyner's Brew Master's Bible. The yeast choice is from that recipe. I'm a total noobie and have only used Nottingham dry yeast, so any liquid will be new to me. I'll probably grab what ever my LHBS has, or even stick with dry. :)...

So who drinks their homebrew before carbonation is complete ?

I bottled my Irish Stout last Friday the 7th. I got 53 bottles :) and had about 8-10 ozs left over. My wife and I sampled it, and I used the rest as a marinade on some chicken breasts. :) mmmmm! Last night I couldn't stand it anymore so I popped the cap on one of the bottles. A...

    Oh Bung!

I crammed my airlock deep into the bung. That made the bung bigger and provided a snug fit. :D Don't get too gassed up about it about it. Basically, it's only by-product gasses that escape out your bung hole. :drunk:
