LHBS (when your LHBS Stinks and it is time to walk away)

I think your just being anal about the whole thing. You want a higher gravity through in some more fermentables like honey or sugar. Try moving up to a all grain method like brew in a bag. I wouldn't burn my bridge especially if its in your area.

Chugger vs March / center inlet vs inline

My setup has a full 1/2" ID through out the whole system. Each of the ports are blocked with a 316 stainless ball valve. The amount of fittings don't effect the pump. Right at 7 GPM.

I like it. Guess you win as the label designer. I'm going to save it.

Chugger vs March / center inlet vs inline

I bought the march-815-ss. In my opinion it is a better pump that was built with home brewers in mind. I built a header for both sides of my pump.

Have I been batch sparging wrong?

I don't stir mine. Just when doeing in. Mash recirculates. Other wise I would do a vorlof.

Have I been batch sparging wrong?

I haven't tried decoction mashing but I thought you were supposed to remove a portion of the grains, with the wort cook at higher temp then return it to the mash tun several times at different temps to create certain flavors. Not sure it has anything to do with efficiency

    Young and dumb

No, didn't even know I was on there till about a year later when people started calling me. One crazy night. Its been nearly 15 years now.
