It is! Maybe it's a waste to use premium malts with a lot of hops but I can taste the difference that they add so I will keep doing it. I would like to try a recipe that lets the malt flavor come through more.

Tapped this about a week ago. Strata whirlpool and Citra/Mosaic/Strata dry hop.

Oddly enough, it kinda does. I tasted the wort after the mash and boil and there is a very subtle cookie flavor. I used 3 lbs of Shaniko and 12 lbs of Lamonta. I was actually worried it would make my IPA taste weird but I have enough hops in it that the cookie flavor doesn't really come...

That's my big concern. I think the 20 gallon setup might just be too big for 5 gallon batches.

For those of you that do 5 gallon batches, are you going with the 15 gallon version? Or are you giving yourself some ability to go big and getting the 20 gallon version?

My concern would be the oxygen left over in the racking arm with no way to escape if you have it pointed down. Anything to limit oxygen exposure is good in my books. If you point it up, at least all the O2 should float up into the beer. Or alternatively, I guess you could blast in some CO2...

@Nate R Are you oxygenating through the racking valve? Wouldn't it make sense to have the arm pointed up during oxygenation to ensure all the O2 makes its way into the beer and is not stuck in the racking arm? Once oxygenation is done and the beer pushes the O2 out of the racking arm, then...

I'll use this. Attach the PRV/manifold on one side port and a TC ball lock post on the top port. I'll put in a liquid dip tube from a keg and attach a piece of 3/16" Bevlex to the end of it. Then attach a barb x MFL fitting on the other end of the tube and a MFL x carb stone to that.

Add top pressure from a CO2 tank and a small exit diameter. With enough pressure, air can't make it back into the fermenter.
