    Maine rookie

Welcome! When I use to live in the East End, I use to be a 10-15 min walk from Grittys, and their stout was my favorite. I didn't realize AHS had a clone kit for this, may have to try it out :mug:

Any good bars or beer stores in Cleveland?

The brew kettle is a great place to go too. It is a little south of Cleveland but easy to get. It is a brewery but has some great commercial beers on tap too. Their White Rajah was amazing. Good BBQ too.

    Heady Topper

Heady Topper > Pliny the Elder. Sorry. AND it comes in a can. Alchemist is also starting to produce a gluten-free beer: Celia Saison +1 Permagrin is a great beer. Lawson's Finest is putting out some amazing beers. Vermont is a good state for beer :mug:

    Show Us Your Label

+1 for a beer label with a frenchie! I'm planning a similar label with my Frenchie. Although I'm thinking of doing a black and white type of thing, and my Frenchie has a messed up ear, so one of his ears is small, so that will make it unique.

My version of Brewit2it's "Cheapest New 2 Keg Keezer"

I just got setup with this Freezer. When I bought it, I assumed I could fit 2 kegs with the possibilty with 4 kegs (with the tank outside). Glad to see someone was able to do it. Looks great!

    Dogs

Here is my dog Scooter. He is a French bulldog and he is our 'discount' puppy because one of his ears didn't grow correctly. One picture is him getting ready to go out in the cold winter we get up here in New England. The other is him next to some class 4 rapids near Baxter State Park in...

    dry hopped mead?

I don't really have anything to offer as in personally making dry-hopped mead. I went to a brewfest in Portland, ME this past summer and Maine Mead Works was there pouring 3 (or 4?) of their offerings. 2 were sickening sweet to the point I could only take a sip or two. But the 3rd I tried was...

    Fall Beers

You could try doing an Oktoberfest using a Kolsch yeast. Seems many people have been successful with that. Personally, I got married in late fall and we had a Black IPA on tap. We also had bottles of BMC, since we didn't think enough people would drink the BIPA. For a cold Vermont day where...

Vermont Beercation Weekend (give me tips!)

Great! Vermont is a wonderful state to vacation in. Make sure to try and take advantage of all the outdoors stuff the state has to offer too! You have to entertain yourself somehow before the bars/breweries open up :D

Vermont Beercation Weekend (give me tips!)

Trout River isn't worth the trip up to it. The beer is ok, the pizza there is pretty good, but it is in the middle of noooo where. Otter Creek is worth it, because Middlebury is such a cool town. Some nice places to eat including an awesome bakery.

Vermont Beercation Weekend (give me tips!)

Recently Lawson's expanded his deliveries, so you don't have to go all the way down to Warren. It is a pretty drive and of course Sugarbush is right there. If you do go down there, American Flatbreads (run by the same people in Burlington, just no brewery) in Waitsfield usually has Lawson's on...

Vermont Beercation Weekend (give me tips!)

I'd skip Flying Goose, but that is just me :D Every so often they have something really good on tap, tho. Just before you go over the bridge to enter Vermont, you can take the exit for West Lebanon and in a shopping mall there is Seven Barrel Brewing. I've never been there, but I see it whenever...

    Sam Calagione on "Beer Geeks"

Reading all this BA bashing just makes me think about how much I actually enjoy their magazine and the guys that actually work at BA. Don't get me wrong, any communtiy that rates Dark Lagers/Schwarzbier (my favorite style) beers badly because they are 'crappy stouts' doesn't sit well with me...

    Sweet Success!

Since the Shed closed here in Stowe and the brewery has been acquired and moved to Otter Creek in Middlebury VT, I figured I'd try this out. The 'real' version was pretty good, one of their better beers. As for the style, I believe they described it as a Barley wine. Brewed this last weekend...
