What Happens When You're Given Access to an Epilog

At our wedding, after we were announced Mr. and Mrs. Norwegiangeek, we played this song as we walked down the aisle, much to the surprise of our wedding party and family. I really wish we had made a video of it...

    This is what that used to look like, btw;

What Happens When You're Given Access to an Epilog

What happens when you're given access to an Epilog and walk away during the lasering process?

    Grain Infographic

Ok, so I mentioned I'd have a preview up last week...but I'm highly unreliable, it's kinda my thing. Anyway, worked on it a bit and what I decided was that I would end up with several graphics like the one below and them combine them on a larger size poster. This one is for grains that add...

    Is it better?

I find all grain more fulfilling to make. No offense to extract brewers (I've never actually done it) but I've always seen it like making soup from scratch with ingredients you purchased, or opening a can of campbells. Either way it's soup, and either way can turn out good or bad depending...

Dough In - Add Grains Or Water 1st To MLT

I always put the water in first thinking that if you try pouring water onto a powder you'll get a big poof of powder in you face. Now I have no idea if that same thing would happen with the milled grain or not, considering it's heavier than a powder, but I figured there was no reason testing it.

    Rice Hulls

I just bought a pound at my LHBS but ended up not using them. We have a homemade copper manifold for sparging and have not had any issues with it getting stuck. Maybe it'd be more useful with a different setup?

    Hop pellets......

+1 for just dumping it all into the fermenter and not worrying about it.

    Any deals on turkey fryers?

If you don't need the pot, I'd give +1 for craigslist. Or google to see if there's a recycling website for your area. We have a ton of skinny-jean hippies in Minneapolis and have a twin cities free market website which is basically like the pay it forward thread on here. My advice is to...

    Cyber Monday

Just a quick story about this, sorry to hijack the thread for a moment. I contacted a guy about buying some old Cigar Boxes (I was going to use them to store tabletop game pieces, can you tell where the geek came from in my name?) that I found on Craigslist and offered to meet the guy at the...

Official 2009 Pay it Forward Thread!

Google Wave is an invite-only google site that is sort of email 2.0 It's real time collaboration of online documents and communication. Basically if Email and Instant Messaging had a potentially awesome baby. I find it pretty counter-intuitive and pretty limited as you can only...

    Brewing log book

I keep a list of ingredients and times as well as notes in a paper notebook (gonna upgrade to a waterproof notebook from REI when this one is full as I do tend to keep getting this one wet) But I also put all the info in Google Docs so I can look it up anywhere.

    Cyber Monday

I just wanted to restate that people should be checking craigslist if they don't mind meeting creepy people at their home. I ended up getting one last night for FREE. The pot was ruined, but I wasn't going to use it anyway since I was planning on just using my SS one I already own instead of...

Official 2009 Pay it Forward Thread!

I posted this on another thread here, but if people are looking for a Google Wave invite, I have 4 remaining. Shoot me an email at [email protected] if you'd like to try it out.

    Finnegans amber???

I don't know about other regions but the Finnegans they sell in MN is brewed at the Summit Brewery (which is a fun tour). You could try contacting them, but I'd be surprised how much info they'd share on another companies recipe.

20 Things Worth Knowing About Beer
