Lobster Beer!!! Get this smell outta here!

Well I don't think there'll be much diving going on then! I know you East coasters are a hardy bunch and all... Hope you have luck with your brewpot.

Lobster Beer!!! Get this smell outta here!

Oh sure, you say that now that my Boston trip is over... I guess I'll just have to come back when that Utopias clone is ready to drink...

    Ball Locks Going Extinct?

Sounds a bit sketchy to me. If what I remember is correct, they're still using them in Japan, as the bag-in-box system hasn't caught on over there.

    Anyone ever drink Kava?

I used to drink a kava drink I found at a health supplement store. It was a powdered, tropical fruit flavored beverage, and it made me nice and calm for quite some time. And still tasted bad.

Lobster Beer!!! Get this smell outta here!

I had both when I went. Is that bad?

10.10.10 Recipe Discussion Thread - The HBT Anniversary Series

Would also like to mention that even if you're not a HUGE fan of whatever beer we decide to brew, it's fun to do it just for the experience. I'd never even had a barleywine when I got in on the 999, just did it for the swap. Plus I don't mind having something in the cellar, even if I don't like...

Lobster Beer!!! Get this smell outta here!

I do believe this is the proper response. Only... Use his head for a mop, his ass for a broom, and his credit card for a new brewpot. Also, +1 to this. But I want my lobster roll from Kelly's. Not the crappy one, the good one up on the beach.

Using a pasta maker to mill grain.

On the topic of cutting the homer buckets, if it was me I might try softening them in a sink full of really hot water first. Might help take away some of the fragility of the plastic.

10.10.10 Recipe Discussion Thread - The HBT Anniversary Series

Yeah I'm liking the way this is going. Scotch was not going to be epic enough, I feel.

Nobody's really commiting to a particular style yet? I hate to rush, but it's about time to start thinking about brewing this thing...or at least a series of starters for it anyways!

    I'm Thinking... 09/09/09 Barleywine

So it's almost carbonated enough. Early sampling shows high hoppy-ness and bitterness. Great flavor, needs the time to mellow out. Should be sending out first of next week?

So I bought these 2 kegs....

Yep happened to me too. Old Dos Equis....

    Bottling Tips for the Homebrewer

I hate to be that guy, but as I feel I've contributed to this thread I thought I should update everyone. I've converted to the BMBF. Sorry, another one has gone to the other side. Mind you, I don't actually serve any beer out of my kegs, I don't have room for that. I just fill em up...

    Lost

Yeah me and SWMBO are both hooked, and think that this has been the best season so far. But I wasn't excited about the recap thing....

Anyone wanna suggest a Grain Mill?

    Leaving immersion chiller in boil

I boil mine. It's easy for me to just leave it in the whole time. Before any liquid goes in, I feed my pickup tube through the coil and position it in the center of the kettle, then I boil away. It doesn't make much of an inconviencence for me, and it's one less thing I have to do during my brew...

Brewer's Rolling Tool box with March Pump mount

    Yeah liking it!

Is Blue Moon an accurate representation of a Witbier?

I have read this whole thread and cannot believe that this is the only place this wonderful beer has been mentioned. Can't get enough of it!

    Yuri's Brew Yurt (Hut)

Uh oh, a couple weeks off of construction means a couple weeks of thinking about building ideas and project planning.

I think that I'll be opening your box wearing a hazMat suit thank you very much.
