Did first beer with the Robobrew yesterday - can't say I had a great time

So the o rings I have are all too thick. But, a small strip of my white hockey tape wrapped around the top of the lower pipe works perfectly. It stops the upper pipe from coming off. I won’t brew with hockey tape on it of course. So does anyone know of food grade high heat tape that we could...

Maybe uninstall and reinstall? I have an iphone and the testflight app had an update when I opened it. Not sure about android.

I was having the same experience but the latest version of the app seems better. Have you updated? I randomly went into testflight one day and saw there was an update.

It is a pretty egregious design error. Given the two pieces, they could easily design a bump stop for the upper tube so that it doesn't come off. Flare the top end of the lower piece and the lower end of the upper piece so that they connect and halt at full extension. Now that I type that, I...

Do you have the app? Can you see a screen with that?

One word of caution on plugging the center pipe, if you end up with a truly stuck recirculating mash, you could end up dry firing the element and causing a potentially bigger headache. The center pipe is designed to try to ensure there is always wort on the element. Just something to consider...

Great info, thanks. I assume they are sending you a new heating element? Might want to ask for two in case the other one goes bad.

I agree, after speaking with Chad, I am convinced these guys know what they are doing. He welds all of the seams, not just spots like the Chinese junk. There are a few other threads on HBT that speak to his products. 16 gallon one here with a handle...

Arbor makes mesh baskets for the Pico and Braumeister units. In speaking with Chad these are strong enough to hold the grain and allow stirring and would support lifting it out after the brew. I plan to use a 600 micron mesh in my design and include a handle welded into the inside of the...

Yup, Arbor makes all of the product for Utah. I found that out today. Arbor said they could probably fit me in if the design was as simple as I was talking about. I think I heard about your call today.

I asked Mate for an update on the mash basket and he let me know they have only done one prototype. He gave me the attached pdf from the facebook owner's page and after reviewing it, that isn't what I had in mind. So I contacted Arbor Fabricating and had a nice conversation with the owner who...

Yes, it is an area of potential infection. I checked with Brewie and the sanitizing clean circulates through the plate chiller to sanitize it, so that is good. There is also a step right before chilling when the boiling wort is circulated through the plate chiller before the chill water is...

So that is what all of the squeaking is! I thought they were some type of internal purge valves, but they are literally pinch valves squeezing the tubing, how interesting. Kind of like deconstructing a peristaltic pump. They are noisy, but do a good job of priming and moving liquid around...

Very good observation. I'm surprised there aren't heat sinks in there, but space is tight I suppose. One of my SSRs blew on my first B+. The heating elements are sandwiched above this entire area so temps have to be high. I would be interested to see a vertical cut-away of the design.

Anyone worked on a farm? Electric Grain Mill ebay

Darn, thanks. I emailed the seller on eBay to see if the grind/gap was adjustable. Sounds like it isn’t.

Anyone worked on a farm? Electric Grain Mill ebay

I built a motorized grain mill several years ago with a barley crusher, capacitor and bodine electric motor, but it rather bulky. I would like something a bit more vertical and space efficient. I searched and found this farm grain mill on ebay...

Under warranty, I have never paid for shipping either way. Always ask them to email you a pre-paid UPS mailer, box it up and drop it off at a UPS store yourself. Don't wait around for them to come get it, that will take forever.

    Comparing different automated systems

Original Brewie Brewie B+ Robobrew v3 Vessi I ordered BEERMKR for next spring When Brewie works, there is nothing else like it. The machine is magic. Full customization and repeatable. It makes great beer. There is no way I could build a fully automated machine for the same price. Built in...
