    Madison Squre Garden keg room

It's cool right up to the point that you remember those kegs are fully of Miller Lite, and they charge like $10 for a paper - cupful. Think what an army of real brewers could do with that set up...

What kind of bottles can we re-use for bottling, I am a Bar manager

Bell's labels slip right off with a five minute soak in warm water and a quick wipe with a rag to remove any residue. That and I have yet to have a Bell's beer that I didn't like.

What do you use for a brewing log?

Also you can share your notebook by adding email addresses and sending link to those with whom you want to share. Cool if you colaborate.

What do you use for a brewing log?

I use an online version of Microsoft OneNote... essentially an online notebook. I make a section for each batch where I copy the recipe, and then make a page for notes on the brewing/fermentation process and a page for storage /tasting notes. All searchable. There is an iPhone ap so I can enter...

    Inconsistent bottle carbonation

And is there a point when you know patience isn't going to do it, and you relegate to marinade and soup base duty?

Can you buy an electric brewery?

    Thanks! I'll check these out.

Can you buy an electric brewery?

Ok, at risk of being thrown off of here for not being an aspiring Henry Ford... the idea of building an entire system from the ground up scares the crap out of me. I am not a do it myselfer, and I have the mechanical skills of a chimp - I might as well not have opposable thumbs. I like to...

    brew day worksheet

I've been making an online notebook using "Microsoft OneNote." It creates a digital scrapbook or notebook with tabs and pages. For each batch I create a new section with the recipe on the first page, followed by a subpage for Brewing Notes, where I put in notes about each step of the process...

    Mini kegs & splitting batches

This is sorta what I expected to hear... Otherwise I figure if they worked well they'd be all the rage based on size, simplicity etc. I'll probably avoid them for now.

    Mini kegs & splitting batches

No, the mini kegs in question are not charged w/ CO2, but primed and cask conditioned. Although, apparently, you can choose between a gravity tap or buying a tap that uses the small CO2 canisters, whippets they are called, to keep the beer fresh longer. I've actually learned a lot since I...

My "Man Cave" adult beverage dispenser

I immediately thought of the old vibrating football game of my youth. However, I live in a football town (college) and in one of the shops I saw a set of larger plastic football players, molded in appropriate team colors. They would probably be about the right scale for your lid, and I'll bet...

    Mini kegs & splitting batches

Hello, new guy questions. I've bottled a few times with success. I like the idea of larger quantities but don't want to get into all the stuff that goes with a corny keg system. I was considering picking up a couple of the 5L mini kegs. To me they seem like a great middle ground, but nobody...

    Show Us Your Label

Yes. The curve is tricky w/ the text as the font resizes every time. Still playing around with it.

    Inconsistent bottle carbonation

Bottled my second batch ever the other day. 1/3 way through racking to the bottling bucket I realized that I hadn't added the priming sugar. I added it and stirred SLIGHTLY but I'm paranoid that I didn't get the job done (that's why I'm reading this thread). My plan is to be as patient as...

Are minikegs safe to sterilize in the oven?

I read that they have a plastic lining... that's going to melt a long time before steel or aluminum. How hot would you need to set the oven? What about a dishwasher w/ "sanitize" mode? I've thought about getting a few as well. Any idea how much priming sugar you'd use for a mini keg?
