    30 min mash Success!

Have never BIAB. However a Small BIAB with Dry hops may be the way to go for Aromatic smell.

    Tig welding!!

Neat. I've had great success with sanitary welds using a second flow regulator with Argon for a purge weld technique. Nitrogen can do the same. As long as Oxygen similar gasses are not on the other side of the welding work you won't make barnacles that host bacteria. It is important to close the...

    Bucks Electric Brewery

Neat to see your builds. For flow meters you can use a Mag Flowmeter as well such as the one IFM Efector has they are not too pricey. Also I have had very good luck for level controlling using in pressure Xducers in the inches of water range. Modern Breweries use them. For connecting to an...

    Automation Direct old Controllers.

Just posting some information for those that desire to integrate controls. Automation direct has always been half the price of Allen Bradley, and others. I program both. Panelview, RSlogix 500 and Directsoft and Cmore panels. I have found the used Automation direct on ebay for a complete setup...

    Automation Direct old Controllers.

I have managed to acquire, with the knowledge to program a one of the many PLC's of the past. All on Ebay. For now I will only deal with Temperature setpoints with probes. The HMI is to be the similar firmware as upgraded. Some will understand that with Allen Bradley and the upgrade train. The...

Inkbird itc-308? $35 gets you wired, 2 stage temp controller.

I use thermowells if immersed. However I have found using 2 inch aluminum tape strapped over the sensor behind my plastic fermentors (where air does not circulate) grabs an average just as well as the thermowell. The aluminum carries the heat. :-)

Inkbird itc-308? $35 gets you wired, 2 stage temp controller.

I have 2 of these like the STC-1000 though. They use a RTD sensor and needs to be re calibrated if changing from F to Celcius vice versa. They work great. Thermocouples tend to fail with differential metals in a short time.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Resistance_thermometer

What I did for beer today

I'm using a Millars Mill. Using a Feeler Gauge I put it at .025 in. Yesterday I milled 15.5 Lbs of grain that was conditioned with 5 oz of sprayed water with 15 min of soaking for a 5 gal batch. It did not look as pulverized as needed. And sure enough the efficiency was 59%. Also after mashing...

What I did for beer today

Wish me Luck. I'm not Jumping too much. Have worked in past with Robert Mondavi Wine makers :D. Those Thermowells are DIY. What is in the cooler tun is to become Zombie Dust clone. The Citrus hops are to be used strategically. The two thermometers were right on. The Infrared was 10 deg off. Hope...

Rubber Gets Hard When Cold. Depending kind.

Agreed. There are food grade lubricants that are helpful. Many opt to put the regulator and bottles outside where it is most of the time warmer. Even propane regulators have been known to fail in a harsh winter environment. Some burning down houses. This was a heads up for me. I've since added a...

Rubber Gets Hard When Cold. Depending kind.

http://www.allsealsinc.com/allseals/Orings/or13.htm As a beginner I have decided to bypass certain links and realise Silicone rubber is Synthetic to lower temperatures. That is good. My First 5 # Co2 bottle in the refrigerator was lost to either Nitrile, or another natural rubber. However the...
