First recipe from scratch (IPA), feedback wanted!

I don't want it overly bitter but i also don't want it to be lacking on that end. I think a small 60 minute addition would be worthwhile and moving the hops up from 30>15 15>5 5>flameout etc. I figured it a lot of hops, i might dial down a bit, anyone have any suggestions as to where to dial...

First recipe from scratch (IPA), feedback wanted!

I'll take a look at the hop stand thank you. I'm thinking of adding a small amount for bittering, just to round it out a bit more.

First recipe from scratch (IPA), feedback wanted!

So i'm fairly new to the AG brewing and have been playing around on getting a "house" IPA recipe that i can maneuver the hops for different flavor profiles etc. What i basically want to get down in this brew is the color, ABV (around 6-6.5) and just make sure i make a solid brew with lots of hop...

    Saison Cottage House Saison

Looking to brew this soon! How prominent is the pepper flavor? Also I think I might dry hop with some Nelson savuin to give it a bit more juicy flavor. What's everyone think?

Cloning New England Brewing Company's Gandhi-bot

I think this is going to be one of my next beers - ghandi has been one of my wants for a while and the hop schedule looks right up my alley. Will scale down to 3 gal though so i can biab on my current pot.

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

did my first BIAB with this as a 3gal batch. Missed the OG a bit which i think was due to my mash temp which dropped to about 149 halfway through. Smells awesome in the fermenter and went crazy in the first 24 hours and has calmed down since. hoping everything goes well - will dry hop for about...

    first BIAB - 3gal in 5gal pot?

Yeast is S-04 - water is just my local tap water, seems to always work well when i'm brewing

    first BIAB - 3gal in 5gal pot?

That was going to be my plan - i think i will do somethign similar to that and see what numbers i get and adjust from there

    first BIAB - 3gal in 5gal pot?

Its the Zombie Dust clone from the IPA recipe forum scaled down to 3 gal. I think the attenuability was calculated from the website i plugged in the info, it wasn't something that i filled in myself. I'm not too familiar with that when it comes to brewing, same thing with the pH of the mash...

    first BIAB - 3gal in 5gal pot?

OG for this beer is 1.066 with 75% eff and 72% attenuation. i expect my efficiency to be a bit lower probably around 70 since this will be my first BIAB, but hoping to get close numbers. If i mash at 152 with the 14qt's as you do, i should expect a small sparge to get me to about 4 gal...

    first BIAB - 3gal in 5gal pot?

I just ordered all the grains for my first BIAB brew - have the 5 gal pot and everything ready, but im concerned that the 5gal pot will be too small for a 3gal batch with 7.19lbs of grains. According to calculators i'm looking at needing a bigger pot for this. If i do a small sparge, think i...

    American IPA Fresh Squeezed IPA

Has anyone done this as a full batch biab? I'm looking at doing it that way but not sure if I gave a big enough kettle for 6 gal. I might have to scale down to 5 gal

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

Awesome thank you for this. Should I just steep the rest if the grains after that or should I do this for all of the specialty grains in this batch?

American Pale Ale Three Floyds Zombie Dust Clone

So i don't have the capability to mash the munich 10L, can i use a munich DME as a substitute? if so how much? if that won't work should i use another steeping grain? thanks all

    Philly area Homebrewers

hello philly area brewers! i'm from telford, so just north of PA and just moved here about a year ago. Only spots i've been able to find decent craft selections has been wegmans and whole foods. Should i venture down into the city to get a better selection? I'm looking to expand my variety, and...

    Sour taste after 1 week

I don't really have any grain in storage as this is only my 3rd batch so I don't think that would be it. I wouldn't say its a vinegar or sour milk taste but more green apple like you said. I'll give it more time and see where we get each week, hopefully the carbonation gets up though cause it'll...

    Sour taste after 1 week

So I just cracked a wheat beer I bottled last weekend (I know early) and it has a prett distinct sour taste to it. It's still highly under carbed so it could just be premature, but I'm wondering if anyone experienced similar tastes early in bottling? I'm hoping that the whole batch isn't ruined...
