Stuck Fermentation/No Activity after 48hrs.......please HELP!!!!!!

This last Sunday, I repeated a IIPA recipie that I had brewed a few months ago with no problem. Turned out fantastic, actually. The only things I changed on this go-around was that I added .25 lbs of Carapils, and added 1oz of Falconers Flight during the boil. Preboil gravity was 1.055 OG...

    Dry hopping question....any input appreciated.

I'm looking for any input as to the posed question above about increasing the mouthfeel of this recipe (see above). Any input appreciated. Thanks!

    Dry hopping question....any input appreciated.

Brief update/input needed: The IPA turned out fantastic. Very nice hop profile and good character overall. I am looking to do this recipe again sometime this weekend and the only thing I want to change in this is the mouthfeel. I double pitched 2 vials of WLP001, and it attenuated more than...

    Dry hopping question....any input appreciated.

Ya, the recipe was borderline IIPA to start with, and now that it attenuated so well, it's definitely and Imperial. I fermented at 66-68....and it accidentally got up to 70 for a few hours. Other than that, it stayed between 66-68. Two vials of WLP001, mainly because it turned into a big beer...

    Dry hopping question....any input appreciated.

Thanks for the input. With all that being said, this IPA has an OG of 1.074 and finished at 1.009. The WLP001 went absolutely ballistic (obviously) and finished about 6 points below where I had intended. What would you expect out of this beer, based on that? I'm guessing it's going to be super...

    Dry hopping question....any input appreciated.

So, this is probably a redundant and highly varied question, but how long is "too long" to leave in dry hops before racking to keg? I've got a really tasty IPA that has been in primary for 2 weeks, and i've got 1oz of Citra, Magnum and Crystal that I plan to use, and plan to leave it in primary...

First AG IPA....few questions for ya.

Ok, so when I got home from work yesterday, the krausen had risen up into the neck, and into the airlock. It was still airtight, but the krausen was coming out of the airlock. No prob, i'll just move it to the bathtub so it doesn't make a mess. Well, last night at some point, the airlock...

First AG IPA....few questions for ya.

Ya, next time i'm going to implement a starter rather than just pitching liquid yeast. I'm glad I decided to double pitch, however and now that it's fermenting.....it's going like crazy. Took about 14 hours to take off, but now there are chunks of yeast and trub spinning around in there making...

First AG IPA....few questions for ya.

Quick update: Got home last night after work, and wow......this thing was bubbling every second or less, and the krausen had risen to a few inches high!!! I guess that answers my questions about the lack of activity. Looks like WL001 just has a long lag time. Cheers...more updates to follow.

First AG IPA....few questions for ya.

Thanks for the responses. I calculated my mash water volume based on 1.5qt/lb as I wanted to go thinner, and have a drier, more fermentable wort. After hearing these responses....I think that 1) I mashed too thin 2) I oversparged I probably should have stopped sparging when it was...

First AG IPA....few questions for ya.

[/COLOR] I planned on leaving this in primary for at least 3 weeks with no secondary, and was going to dry hop with a week or so left. Keg condition for 1-2 weeks after that. Will dry hopping in primary (and not doing a secondary) affect the profile of the beer?

First AG IPA....few questions for ya.

Sooo, I brewed my first AG IPA yesterday. I have a 10 gal Gott cooler for my MLT, and one for my HLT. Grain bill is as follows: 13.5 lbs 2 row 11oz Crystal 60L I mashed 5.23 gallons at 151.5* for 70 mins, and fly sparged with 3.5 gal of 174* water, which took ~20 mins. I added 14oz...

    Stone Ruination Clone.....will it fit????

Thanks for all the replies. At first I was thinking that I could accomodate the large grain bill by simply doing a thicker mash (1qt/lb or less?) but then conversion comes into play, and got me worrying that I wouldn't get full conversion. If NB says that it maxes out at 15lbs, then I should...

    Stone Ruination Clone.....will it fit????

Sorry if my post was a bit vague. This is what I have: http://www.northernbrewer.com/brewing/brewing-equipment/all-grain-equipment/deluxe-ags/deluxe-ags-5-gallon.html I'm really looking to get a "bigger" IPA going, but i'm starting to think that my 5gal MLT is not going to cut the bill...

    Stone Ruination Clone.....will it fit????

Hi all!! Long time lurker, new to posting here. I've got a new 5gal AG system from Northern Brewer that i'm getting ready to break in. I want to do a Stone Ruination clone with a kit from AHBS. The grain bill on this kit is ~13lbs. Without having used this system yet, will this grain bill...

Hello! First time poster, long time viewer. I'm planning on investing in my first homesetup and will be doing AG. I want to do this right, so i'll be buying SS MLT and Kettle. My question is: -What size (gallon) MLT and Kettle should I buy? I plan on doing 5gal home batches and am not sure...
