Speed Response Needed II -- Punkin Ale

I actually have midwests pumpkin ale in the fermenter right now. Did 20oz in the steeping. 40 oz during boil, and im actually gonna do 40oz in the primary for about a week an half. Then transfer to secondary for fermentation. Never done a pumpkin ale before so I figured what the hell, let's...

Pumpkin ale, keep primary or go secondary?

Never thought of doing that, maybe I'll add it tomorrow, then in about a week which will be the 3rd week, rack it in the secondary for about a week, giving it 3 weeks primary - 1 week secondary?

Pumpkin ale, keep primary or go secondary?

My pumpkin ale is coming up in 2 weeks primary so I figure it's time to ask the question. I plan on adding 45oz of pumpkin to the fermenter. Should I just add it to primary, or rack to secondary and then add? I've already added about 50oz of pumpkin to the boil.

    When to move to secondary?

I'm fermenting a pumpkin ale right now. Would you suggest just adding pumpkin to primary or move to secondary and then add pumpkin?

    Band aid flavor?

Well I guess I'll know for sure whether it was temps or water in 3-4 weeks. I am keeping a closer eye on the temps for the pumpkin ale, but used the same water.

    Band aid flavor?

Is there any way for to to treat the water that will not break the bank? if not I know I can buy gallon of water for about 1.00$. 5-6$ extra each brew is nothing

    Band aid flavor?

Lol just my luck because I have a pumpkin ale fermenting...I've lowered the temps to about the upper 68 on the pumpkin ale. So I'm thinking if it still tastes like band aids, then it must be water

    Band aid flavor?

First batch almost 2 weeks into the bottle and it almost tastes medicinal or similar to a bandaid. I understand it could take longer to condition but this has me worried. I'm think my fermentation temps could have been a limitless higher than what I wanted. Anyone else know what this could be?

Just finished my 2nd batch - Pumpkin Ale

I know a lot of people add their pumpkin at certain points. I figured, what the hell, let's add them it at three different points. I think because I added it with the initial steep, I have a really nice pumpkin orange color. After adding it 10 min left in the boil, I have a nice pumpkin aroma...

Just finished my 2nd batch - Pumpkin Ale

Bottled my first batch - Amber Ale this morning. Started my second batch kit from Midwest Supplied - Pumpkin Ale. I altered the recipe just a bit. Add 1 tsp of Pumpkin Pie spice and an additional tablespoon of brown sugar. Also, steeped about 15oz of organic canned pumpkin with the...

    1st brew

I purchased the pumpkin ale kit from Midwest. I figured, by the time it gets going and conditions, it would be mid September. Perfect for the fall! Next week, I'm also making a trip to home depot to purchase everything necessary for a wort chiller. I priced it at about $40. And I need a...

    1st brew

Hey, that's the same kit I just started with. It just hit 2 weeks in the fermenter today. Plan on bottling it Monday or Tuesday of next week. I'm on midnight the next 4 nights :-x So far, it's been going great! I've tasted it after doing hydrometer readings, and I think it's going to turn out...

    Variations on a pumpkin ale

I was really going for the color with with steep and boil. I figured adding the pumpkin directly to the secondary would give it most of the flavor?

    Variations on a pumpkin ale

I think I'm going to do it in 3 stages. 1 15oz during the steep 1 30oz during the boil 1 30oz during secondary Any thoughts?

    Variations on a pumpkin ale

Ok, so this is an extract kit with grains from Midwest supplies. Grains Extract Hops Brown sugar, and cinnamon So all that info aside, I plan on adding 2 30oz cans of Libby's pumpkin to the recipe, but not sure when to do it. I'm thinking about putting it in a nylon bag and steeping it...
