The Brewer's Best classic EPA was my first batch, too. You don't need carbonation drops, it comes with priming sugar. It has grains to steep and also includes the appropriate grains bags to do so. Comes with some LME and some DME as well as hops, bottle caps and decent instructions.

Well, you're either not using a big enough sample to measure with or your hydrometer is broken. It floats in water, so I'm pretty sure it'll float in prison hooch.

Well, I've had BM and Hoegaarden back to back at a bar. BM definitely has a stronger flavor. I like Blue Moon much more than Hoegaarden. Hoe always seems watered down to me. Not to mention Blue Moon is a more reasonably priced beer.

Don't get me wrong, it's a good summertime beer. Very refreshing. However, as you said it's fairly expensive. For what I'd pay at my local pub for one I could get two much more flavorable local brews. To me, if I pay a high price for a beer, it better be a very flavorful beer.

Congrats on the smoking cessation. It's tough. Before quitting for good in April of 2005, I had tried to quit a half dozen times. It's all about desire. I still have cravings all the time, but it's become so routine I can will them away. Mind over matter :) :mug:

Can't be all that valuable if you try to make hooch with baker's yeast and grape juice.... :drunk: j/k, but I'd do more research before the next batch ;)

It's a great town for families etc. However, I was 22 and fresh out of college when I moved there in 2002. Wasn't a whole lot of fun things to do up there.

Yeah, that's always nice. We lived up in The Woodlands for a while and our apartment was one block away from my office. I miss those days..... Ended up buying a home in Champion's Forest, so never had that short commute again :(
