    Upright Freezer for Kegerator?

Did a quick search but couldn't find what I needed. The old fridge I was using as my kegerator went out tonight, and I need to replace it fast. I have an extra full-size, upright, frost-free freezer with a temp controller. Has anyone used one as a kegerator, drilling through the door for the...

    Towing a Brew Rig?

If you are, I suggest buying a B&W Hitch Product to help you get the job done. I just saw this story linked on another board, and it has me seriously considering getting a new hitch for my truck. A solid company doing something great for their community. It's the same helping-hand spirit I love...

Bottling from taps - Perlick owners

I just ordered mine, and Mike replied within about a minute with shipping info.! I've been using the BMBF for a while, but I hate dragging my kegs out of the fridge to use it (I have a similar fridge set up to the pics the OP posted). This should make things much easier :mug:

American Barleywine AG - Water Into Barleywine

I brewed this last February, before the birth of my daughter, with the idea that I would enjoy some on her first birthday. I had my first taste of it last night when I opened the keg to dry hop it. It is simply sublime! I used the same grain bill and adjusted the hops to what I had on hand...

x2 You mentioned you're a graphic designer. Why not post up on CL and see if a welder needs some design work in trade for a little welding?

I have anosmia which could be a problemadvice needed

I suffered trauma to the front of my head a few years ago which caused me to lose my sense of smell completely for about a year. Since that time I have recovered about 25-50% of my sense of smell, which is all I will get back. The rediscovery of smells was a strange process within itself, but I...

    Advice on 1960's truck

The best thing to do is find the make and model you're most interested in and hit message boards specific to that truck. There are many general mechanical things to look for, but the real quirks will be known by folks who bleed a specific make. I collect International Harvester trucks, and there...

    Bulk Grain Storage

I don't believe anyone has mentioned US Plastics, but that's where I got my storage containers (Vittle Vault II). They don't take up very much room, have a nice sealing screw-on lid, and they hold a 55# bag of grain. Plus, you get discounts for buying in quantity so order with a friend!

    My first Berliner

I can't speak about the phenols of lacto, but in the lab where I work we incubate all of our bacillus cultures at 37C/ 98F. They are definitely happiest in the heat.

Offtopic - advice on identifying microorganisms?

I recently read a text book called "Brewing Microbioolgy" link which went into some detail about the classification and identification of lactobacillus. Companies make commercial media for the isolation of these organisms. This selective/ differential media will make it easier to isolate...

    Fruit for Flanders Red?

This is good to know, I'll probably wait a bit. Thanks! And many thanks for all of the advice:mug: I've brewed a number of fruit beers and prefer to use fresh/frozen fruit as it has always given good results. When I spoke of canned I was thinking of the canned fruit in supermarkets. That...

    Fruit for Flanders Red?

I made my first Flanders Red a week or so ago, and I was wondering if anyone has had luck finding sour pie cherries. I would like to use the sour ones based upon Mosher's suggestion in Radical Brewing. I can't seem to find fresh or frozen ones in my area. Surely you wouldn't wanted to use...
