    Fermentation only lasted 2 days.

He's right . You can take readings every few days , wasting beer , until you reach your FG , but why rush it ? Let it do its thing. Drink ALL your beer . :mug:

    Fermentation only lasted 2 days.

Patience ! It's not done ! Leave it alone for another 18 days , then take a hydrometer reading and you'll be ready to bottle or keg your beer.

    skunking from brewing outside?

I would imagine most homebrewer's do it outside.

    Alabama vote.

I think you are reading "exactly" what Sen. Iron's was wanting to say. I also did not receive a response from Sen. Waggoner or from Sen. Marsh . These two were the one's who ultimately decided what was put on the calendar , so it's pretty easy to decide who put the stops to the bill.

I believe I've had my first contamination. What is it? Is it going to ruin my beer?

Wow !!! That's really nasty looking. I've been brewing for over 15 years and never had a batch do that.

    All this work...for nothin'

Oh...what a bummer. I have had that happen to me before but I caught it when I started the siphon.

    Secondary Fermenter

Not really necessary but if you got space and the extra fermenter , it just adds to the "cool" factor of making beer.

    Drunken Emu Hard Cider

I think I'm going to give this recipe a shot this weekend. Tried some cidar last week at the local brewfest that was real tasty.

    Alabama vote.

Yep , I got the same email. Glad he put together an email to explain the process and maybe what happened. Mac also sent an email saying "You will have my support as long as I serve in the legislature. I am committed to our Homebrewer's!" Hoping that we can learn from this year and come back...

    Alabama vote.

I sent out several emails ,expressing my disappointment , but in a positive way , hoping that we can come back next year stronger , and with more support. I think it would help if we became a stronger movement next year with maybe some regional meetings to gain support from all the homebrewers...

I know several homebrewer's that do live in Holtzclaw's senate district that are very unhappy right now.

Shadrack McGill is actually my Senator , but I will still send Holtzclaw another email.

    Alabama vote.

Very, very disappointed in our Senate for not getting HB354 , the Homebrew bill on the calendar. I know there were more important bill's out there , but I don't think this bill would have taken up much time at all for a vote. This year's bill is more restrictive than last years , which passed...

    Alabama vote.

How many bills on latest calendar? Seems our Rep. Has forgotten about us.

    Alabama vote.

Our bill got lost in the pile because they waited until the last day to debate the immigration bill and try to pass a budget. We were duped to believe it could get on the calendar but they knew it wasn't going to happen.
