Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

Do you take steps to deoxygenate your star san?

    Hefeweizen, too much flaked oat/wheat?

Brewing's an adventure. The worse things go, the more you'll laugh about it in a year. Good luck! ps, can't go worse than this? https://www.homebrewtalk.com/threads/100-malted-corn-lager-double-decoction-mash.700550/

    Whirlfloc or not?

I cannot swear that they are related, but I find that my clear beers taste better. It might be aging solves both, or maybe some of proteins/etc affect flavor. I'm more sure of the connection with dark beers.

    Rapid forced carbonation

If you get the beer cold, you can shake it under 30psi for a few minutes to carb it. But to drop the temperature, you have to worry about a vacuum forming - might need to top off pressure now and then. (Shaking depends on vastly increasing beer-gas surface area from bubbles, as well as rapid...

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

Hmm, I have one of these* https://www.morebeer.com/products/co2-regulator-taprite-dual-gauge.html and put one of these in it without issue. https://www.morebeer.com/products/shutoff-valve-14-mpt-mfl.html Maybe they improved their setup? *it was part of a Komos kit I got as a gift via morebeer a...

    Hefeweizen, too much flaked oat/wheat?

A bag won't save you if the whole mash turns to goo. If you don't want to use rice hulls, moving to 45% barley like hungupdown said will help a ton.

Kegging under pressure from Anvil 7.5 SS bucket fermenter to 5 gallon corny

If you fill the keg all the way, I recommend drawing a pint before leaving gas connected to keg. This drops the liquid level below the gas dip tube, reducing chance of backflow into the gas tubing. If it's not already pressurized, you might need to put the gas on to pull a pint. (You likely...

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

They may noy be cross theeaded. The issue if they have the same thread pitch (TPI etc) is that tapered threads are usually tapered on both ends so you get a large plane (cone?) of contact. Standard threads into a tapered part will have the tightest seal up front, and will be progressively looser...

8mm OD EVA Barrier tube Duotight fitting for C02 regulator below shut off valve

FWIW a flare fitting should not need any tape/doping. Unlike tapered threads, the threads in a flare fitting are not where the seal happens. edit: Oh, that's a tapered thread part. Are you putting it on a flare fitting on the regulator?

Modified corny keg lid with post no longer fitting

Modified corny keg lid with post no longer fitting

If you're purging with fermentation gas, you generally don't need to fill with star san first.

Modified corny keg lid with post no longer fitting

Nothing beats the feeling when you need a very specific tool, and realize you bought one 10 years ago and it's in the big box o' tools. edit: E.g. every time I need to pull a faucet cartridge I do a little dance.

Modified corny keg lid with post no longer fitting

Is that a 1 pc threaded dip tube? Strange.

Modified corny keg lid with post no longer fitting

You don't cut the top off; you need the flare. Cut the bottom of the dip tube. edit: Oh, I thought you were getting ready to cut the wrong end lol. Mac meant pull the dip tube out without the coupling on to get the lid on.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

I think your idea that the tailgate frunk kegerator will save the homebrew hobby is fair fodder here. We were all thinking it.

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Do you get electricity for under $0.10/kwh, and >4mi/kwh with conversion losses? Or maybe you're calling your solar $0? Also, it sounds like you skip the recommended maintenance. E.g. do you not rotate your tires? Replace brake fluid, coolant, etc? (Or are you not counting stuff you do at...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

Yeah, at $4/gal, 30mpg, $0.15/kwh, and 3mi/kwh, you're saving $0.083 per mile, or $833 per 10,000 miles. Not nothing, but not huge. A $30,000 car you keep for 10 years costs you $8.22 per day before counting fuel and maintenance. If you drive 25mi/day, you're saving $2.08 a day going electric...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

At least 15 months ago, they were still selling RAV4 prime as fast as they could make them. My impression was that they were out of a bunch of other stuff, too, e.g. Sienna, RAV4 hybrid. For PHEV, they're supposedly in a different reliability league from everything else, although I think that...

Poll: Do you have, or plan to get, an electric car?

I just wish Toyota would get in the game. If I were buying today, I'd be looking hard at the Mazdas, but it'll be a few years before my Prius reaches retirement age. edit: hmm, I thought Mazda had a little electric hatchback. Am I wrong? Maybe I was looking at their hybrids when we bought our...
