Trying the third in this limited series called 'Ivy', by local Zero Issue Brewing. I'm not a fan of Vanilla in most about anything, but this seems to work with the coffee/smoky overtones of the Stout. Maybe itshh the 11.5% talking (hic), baby, but I kinda like it. 😂 Also fired back a quick...

Ultradestroyer Imperial Licorice Stout by Howe Sound Brewing out of Vancouver, BC. Yes! :rock:Made with Star Anise, Clove and Licorice root. Very smoky, super malty and after a chilly +1º C day fishing with leaky waders, the 10% hit is a welcome way to heat up. Cheers!:bigmug:

This might be a new favourite...hmm. Dill pickle sour with a Mott's Clamato Caesar. Okay, okay...the crazy folks at local New Level Brewing suggested the pairing on the back of the 'Licensed to Dill' can, and I happened to have a Mott's in the fridge. Never thought I'd try a Dill pickle beer...

First acceptable pull from my very first kegged beer. A Hazy Grapefruit IPA, and it is looking great! Trying to finish a s***ton of home projects, but at 7.5%, this may not be the 'session brew' for today. 😆 Slow and steady wins the race, lol. So much to do and so little fishing left...with...

Gose IPA by local Zero Issue Brewing. Tart, clean and very refreshing. It even goes well with Tamari Almonds! Cheers folks :bigmug:

So I left my last HB to settle out in the Fermonster for the last 4-5 months... (horror!!) It was a Belgian Dubbel Sour to start, then life got in the way...and I simply didn't touch it. I won't show pics of the 'pedicle' (spelling) because it's a bit scary. I chose not to carbonate...

The mighty Hopocalypse Meow, by the Phillips Brewing & Malting Co. It's a real DIPA at 9.2%! Not boozy, however, and a bit...tropical? MeeOw!! :bigmug: "You understand, Captain, that this mission does not exist, nor will it ever exist..." - Colonel Lucas, 'Apocalypse Now'.

Dandy Brewing Co. Pineapple Milkshake Sour. This is so very good, I hope it becomes a regular brew! Just a touch of pineapple during the sour beginning and a tasty hit of biscuit at the end. Great beer...and it's clear!! 😋

The wrapper on this Cabin Brewing 'Ultra Saturation' hazy with Phantasm and other cryo hops reminds me of an old 1970's speedboat finish...or perhaps a 'Boogie Van' paint, before vehicle wraps became cool. The sparkle doesn't really come through. Trying out a new HDR photography engine as well...

Whooo boy, I feel a bit old now...mine was 1990..lol. The speed limit on the main roads around my school was 90km/h...so we creatively removed many, if not all the speed limit signs over and over again during the year! 😂 Ahhh, childhood...anyhoo, I'm having a non-hazy Sour NEIPA that's supposed...

Stiegl Grapefruit Radler. This is really hitting the spot today...too damn hot for anything else 🥵 ...at least until the next hazy in the fridge!😉 Cheers!

Space Wolf Galaxy IPA by local New Level Brewing. I spoke with a gentleman loading in crates and crates of New Level beers at the beer store...turns out he was one of the NLB founders! Cool that he's still slinging' cases to the local stores. 👏 This is a really great beer...gotta love me a 7.6%...

9 Donkeys of the Hopocalypse, by Phillips Brewing & Malting Co. from Victoria, BC. Hard to believe this brewery has been around for 23 years!? It's aromatic and smooth for a 9% beer, but there's something that doesn't jive with my palate. Hmmm.🤔 Oh well, after a couple more everything will be...

2D Sour NEIPA by Town Square Brewing. Nice and clean, and lots of hoppy goodness from El Dorado, Citra and Mosaic. Quick sour bite and a tasty malt finish. I could drink a bunch of these. Cheers! :mug:

A beautiful, fresh Dubbel IPA called 'Cosmic Wave'. It's brewed in Tofino, BC. Hey man, nobody knows when the big waves are coming... :cool: Haha, it has a very sprucey/resinous hit off the start, smooth carb and a great cedar/biscuit finish. Not boozy at all for %9, a great DIPA.
