Perlick 650SS Issue - bottom out on shank

Thanks for checking for me. It just seemed odd, but glad it looks to be the same as yours. I should get it setup here in the next week and I will report back for any others that might find this thread in the future. Rob

Perlick 650SS Issue - bottom out on shank

Pretty close to what I am seeing. With the faucet not connected to the shank the flow control lever has about 270 degrees of motion. However, 270 degrees is not need to make it operate, only half that is needed. Looking at the flow control side of the faucet with the flow control arm at 12...

Perlick 650SS Issue - bottom out on shank

Has anyone had any issue with the 650SS flow control mechanism (the ball sticking out the back) bottoming out on the con-caved mating surface of the shank? Top up a yeast starter?

Made my first yeast starter and forgot to compensate for the boil off in the 15 min boil. I end up with less water and did not notice until after I pitched the yeast. Based on the current volume and the amount of DME used, I am at about 1.058. Should I top it off with some pre-boiled water...

Get To Know Your Yeast - Making A Starter

Great article and relevant topic for a new brewer learning that starters are not just for advanced brewers. The article does not get into this but I did wonder about cold crashing and decanting the starter. This in of itself is debated, but assume it is the path I want to take ... here is what...

New digital solid state power relay for boil regulation

All - New to the forums and interested in better understanding a few things on this thread. I could not find if the above post was ever commented on or answered. Do you just run 1 leg of the 240 circuit through the SSR and the other leg is always hot to the heating element? Rob
