    First Label

My daughter and I brewed our first beer together. I have brewed about 10 batches so far and while my daughter was home from NYC she wanted to brew.:rockin: We brewed a Blond Ale from a kit, and she made a label. I thought I would share the label here. I may be biased, but I think it's pretty...

    Fermentation closet questions

Don't forget to insulate the floor. I'm sure the slab is getting quite hot and you will want to insulate against it.

Why is my gravity so low?

Thanks for the replies, and advice. I put the wort into a glass carboy and stirring is a little harder there. Guess next time at the brew store I'll invest in a stirrer/ aerator for the drill. Guess I find out how things went in a couple weeks when racking into the secondary.

Why is my gravity so low?

This past weekend I brewed a Pilsner. I used 7.5 lb of LD Carlson Pilsen Light DME for 6g of water. If you assume 42 gravity points per lb per gal the OG should have been 1.0525, but my gravity turned out to be 1.042. What could have gone wrong? I have had problems with low OG before, but...

    Handy dandy hide-away work table

Just a quick idea for your work table. Put a 2X4 along the wall under the table(when down) and then put studs from there to the floor for support. This will increase the load capacity and save damage to the hinges. I had an experiance with something like this and one hinge gave out.

    My $2.00 Wort Chiller

I did the same thing, but i put the brew pot into one side and run the water next to the pot. it just over flows to the other side and drains. if you put the water on the far side of the pot i can cool wort in 20 min. It's not any bigger waste of water than a chiller in the pot.

    Official PMBS build thread....

That is one cool CFC!! If I were building it I would defiantly have it where it could be seen. All that work would be shown off on my brew rig. Looks great man.
