I call it "left over surprise" it's damn good! Wish I knew what the hell I tossed in there. I was cleaning out the grain closet and used everything that was left. 10 gallons of 9.6% who knows! I originally did it because I was bored and needed to clean, now I'll probably spend the next year...

This gets me excited! I couldn't wait until I qualified, so I set up a trade with fellow HBTer that's getting shipped out in the morning. I guess I'm going to have to go to the beer store and see what's left when I go to the post office. I saw most of these there last night.

Watched my grain ups order all day. It's still in Michigan. I'm stalking my package! That sounds so bad.

Round kick

I literally have the opposite problem here. I boiled some water in an aluminum 8 gal turkey pot, set it on the concrete back porch over night, it was still just above 120 the next morning. (About 12 hours)

I think it would work, plus is has a fitting to add an electric element if you want. I guess it kind of depends on where you live on what will work best for you. Here it's usually so hot that even a cheap turkey fryer pot will keep the temp pretty well.

I love this stuff.

Check out the one I recommended, it's 15 gallons and comes with all the bells and whistles. It also leaves room for expanding to bigger batches.

That's my brew buddy! I found that thing when we were cleaning up the house to move in. It's the creepiest thing I've ever seen. I love creepy stuff, so I never had the heart to get rid of it. SWMBO said I had to keep it one of my areas so she doesn't have to see it.

I have a giant tea infuser ball that is stainless that I toss in the keg. I usually chill and carb in the keg for a week, toss in the ball, and start serving a few days later. I did notice the difference when I started doing that, but now it's just routine.

Thanks, you just reminded me that I have a case in the back of my closet from almost two years ago. Chilling them while I drink a Bud Light. *please don't ban me from this place! I love it here! SWMBO drinks it, I just needed some water.* Has anyone ever admitted they were drinking that crap here?

Do I see cider in your future? Or, a chocolate apple stout. That'd be a keeper for later. It tastes terrible for the first year. After a year and a half, it's perfect. (If you like a whiskey aged flavor) (still can't figure out where the whiskey comes from)
