How many oz do you dryhop?

I love it when the hops kick my teeth in and puch the back of my throat so i usually use at least 6 oz per 5 gallons in my ipa's.

    Filtering

Thanks for the info! I was suspecting my filter was to "corse"... Can i just use the .5 to filter both yeast and bacteria at the same time?

    Filtering......

I just started filtering at a fellow home brewers suggestion. I think i have the wrong filters or something cuz my beers i have filtered dont seem clearer than before i ran them thru the filter. I used a 5 micron filter and it seems that it didnt change a thing. Am i doing something wrong here?

    Filtering

I recently bought a "brew filter" from homebrewstuff.com witch is as many know just a under the counter water filter. I bought some 5 micron filters but not sure if its either the wrong filter or its just a bunch of bs. I pushed 5 gallons of ipa that cold crashed for 4 days thru it at 4 psi and...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

I use wlp001 and cold crash for about a week, filter, keg and carb. After a couple days in the keg it is crystal clear! I do use irish moss for the last 20 mins of every batch as well, never had a problem with it. I keep it in the freezer with my hops.

Winter Seasonal Beer Holly (Christmas Ale)

Maybe you just used to much of the "spice" ingedients... Ive done that before. I just tasted my winter lager from last season which had way to much ginger and cinamon.. Its clear as F...!! But still has too much ginger taste!

Specialty Fruit Beer Chocolate Cherry Stout

I actually changed the grain bill a bit and used american hops and yeast. Its still similar, real rich, creamy, coffee and chocolate flavors. Im using raspberry extract instead of the cherry. Gonna rack it today or tomorow into secondary with the vanilla beans and rasp extract, let it sit about...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Awesome!! This is a good recipe to start out with, nice and simple! Just remember to be patient every step of the way. I was impatient with my first couple AG batches and turned out with cloudy low FG beer.

Winter Seasonal Beer Holly (Christmas Ale)

All went well today, i ended up with an OG of 1.078 and hit 80% according to brewersfriend.com! I did a half oz of 12.6% cenntenials for the first wort hop just cuz im a total hop head! The color was absolutely beautiful, a nice deep reddish color! I cant wait to taste this one after a couple...

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

It just seems like alot more because the pellets are so condensed and the whole are so fluffy. Its still the same ounce to ounce, just need a bigger bowl to measure out the whole leaf. The orange peel does somethung amazing to the finish of this blonde! Just use a tsp tho, easy to over do it...

I brewed this over the weekend and had great results! Ended up with 1.075 OG. I changed it a little bit and used different hops, i went more american stout. My preboil wort tasted like a dark chocolate triple espresso!! I cant wait to try this in a few months!
